Hey, nice to see another rider on the forums. I've got my learners and have booked to do Q-Ride in Feb because I fly to Townsville tomorrow to work for a month (so I can afford the bike!). I'm 175cms so yeah, I can touch the ground fairly easily. I've decided to buy new so I know it hasn't been in a prang or being dropped as well as it meaning i'll have a warranty. I'm tossing up between a Hyosung GT250R and a Kawasaki GPX250. Both are red. I want a red bike 'cause red bikes go faster.
What cruiser you got?

slimmindown, yep fairly warm day in brissie about 30 probably and don't my shoulders know it. Playing cricket for an hour in a singlet with no sunscreen was a bad idea

Hey Roar

Go here  http://www.weightloss.com.au/forum/viewtopic.php?t=2924 to see my new bike. She is a 650cc Yamaha Vstar Custom. Oh and you're right about the red! Had her for about a month now.

Actually they came in red or black and I didn't want another black bike as I feel it cuts down visibility on an overcast day. Plus my jacket and helmet have red on them so it all works. Been riding just over three years now and I ride my babu everyday to work. I totally agree with buying new if you can afford it, you know exactly what your getting for your money. Best of luck. :D

I just want to clear something up. I do own more than one shirt! It was just a coincidence that 3 out of the 4 photos i'm in the same shirt. How embarassing  .

All the guys at school tell me to pop a wheelie and I never would but i'm not going to admit to them that I actually don't know how to!

Looking great! And congrats on getting the bike. You've got more guts than me :)

PS I noticed the T-shirt thing but just thought it was a case of here's the incredible shrinking woman in the increasingly larger T-shirt - kind of like a benchmark piece of clothing :P

never mind about not being able to do a wheelie it just goes to show you are a sensible motorcyclist :) do you have your car licence too or just a bike one?

I'm on my Ps for my motorbike and my Ls for my car though i've never driven a car before. I really need to start lessons though mum and I don't have a car so it makes it very hard especially when driving schools charge $45 per hour at a minimum. I've got to get my manual too because I want to be a paramedic and you have to have your manual licence.

ah ok then. well its only really the contorlling of the car that you need to get used to. having your licence for your motorbike means that you know the road rules already.

You look great and it's a huge change! Don't go popping wheelies if you don't know how. It will end in disaster guaranteed. I've never learned to ride a motorbike so you've got me impressed without a wheelie. IMHO Tassie it not the best place for motorcycles. Wet, wind blown, slippery moss covered windy roads. Lots of people have them here regardless and you just watch them all come out on nice days!
