Weighing yourself-empty or full tummy??

What gives a more accurate reading when it comes to weighing yourself...is it better to do it on an empty stomach first thing in the morning or after you've eaten??

I usually weight myself in the morning when i get up and before i eat - give myself time to digest food n stuff.

Not sure when would be the correct time to weigh myself tho? That just seemed the most logical i guess...

What does everyone else do?

I weigh myself always first thing in the morning, before eating or drinking and after going to the toilet. Later in the day the numbers are always going to be bigger, and it will depend on how much you've drunk, eaten and eliminated throughout the day. I think in the morning is more reliable as well...

Ditto, I do morning - post pee / pre breakfast. I like to think this is my best shot at weighing in thin!!

It doesnt really matter, you just need consistency.

If you weigh yourself in the morning and your 70kg,

Then you have brekkie and lunch and you weigh 71kg, it doesnt mean your any fatter.

Weight is just a number, you should never just go by one number.
Starting Weight: 62kg Current Weight: 55.0kg Goal Weight: 54kg

Goal Reached 22 February 2008, Must get down to 54kg again!

I agree with the above.

Eating - it depends on what you eat! If you weigh yourself immediately after drinking 2L of water and eating 100g of nuts, you will be 2.1kg heavier.

That's why most people tend to do it on an empty stomach, because that's fairly constant!

According to my body fat monitor/scales you're not meant to weigh in on it for 3 hours after waking up, exercising or eating. It ain't easy! I usually weigh in in the afternoon after school 'cause i've spent 20 minutes sweating in my motorbike gear on the way home :lol:

Empty, because you dont exactly weigh everything you eat.
