Just dont want to waste money.

Hi Siana-leah,

I bought it a while ago and found it really good. It helps you work out why you are overweight - you know, whether there is an underlying cause/reason.

It helped me work out that my weight is my security blanket for not getting hurt in relationships - men are less likely to bother you if you are overweight.

It goes through every step you need to conquer your weight once and for all - how you think, what you're environment is like, your circle of support etc.

Definitely recommend it.

Happy to answer more questions if you need,
Angel

Hello siana-leah

I would deffinatley recomend Dr phills book.It has been one of the major factors of my succsess so far.He really makes you think and like Angel said he really makes you identify the reasons why you are overweight.

It made me do alot of soul searching and I learnt so much about myself because of it.It has been just over 12 months now since I started my jorney and I feel amazing.I have gone from a size 20 -22 to a size 14-16 currentley.I aim to drop one more dress size and I am working hard to achive that.

Good luck to you and I hope you get Dr phills book.Deffinatley worth the read.

Hey thanks for that
I was thinking it might be good because a HUGE part of us being overweight is to do with ourself and our behaviour.
So maybe if I take a good look on the inside the outside will change.

Thanks for telling me about the book. Congrats on your weight loss Natalie.

Thankyou siana

I think you will get allot oou of the book.I myself found it a hard read only because of the questions it has for you to ask of yourself.
Some sections take longer than others and it all depends on the person.

Again

Postby Siana-leah » Sat Feb 18, 2006 12:18 pm

Hey
I bought the book...and I cant put it down....there is so much im getting from it.
One thing really hit me hard and that is that we have created an environment for ourselves that keep us overweight. Its never been that stark for me before.
I also realised that my problem is that I have too many negative internal thoughts. Ive been setting myself up for a fall.
Im so glad I bought this book. Its showing me a lot about myself.
Im feeling very positive about myself and hopefully I will engage what he is talking about and lose that weight.

Thanks for giving me info on the book.
:D

Great to hear Siana-leah, it is a great book, Dr Phil certainly puts things in black and white for us.

I too was shocked when he made me realise my environment was set up to accommodate me being overweight - it's great we've worked that out, so many overweight people don't.

Here's to a new and improved you. Happy reading,

Hello siana

I am glad you like the book and you are identifying with some of the things in there.I think the biggest thing for me was the exuses I used to make to myself why I could not loose weight.
Dr phill is straight down the line - he does not try to dumb things down or anything he tells it like it is and I really like that kind of honesty.

Yes I am the same siana I also have negative interanal thoughts and it is something that I have improved alot on in this past year but there is still so much for me to learn and I am learning every day and I think I will always be learning.

Good on you for feeling positive.Keep building on that and keep the momentum going your way.Have you read the part in the book where Dr Phill talks about momentum? It really touched me as it is so true. When you start to think positive great things will happen for you and by the sounds of your post good things are comming your way.I am so glad you are reading the book as if you are anything like me you will find it to a very useful resource.

Good luck with it all and I hope to see you around these forums and read of your succsess.

YOu can do this!!!!! Go girl!

BOY!

Postby Siana-leah » Sun Feb 19, 2006 5:39 pm

Im not kidding... i am so glad i bought this book.
Thanks for the encouraging posts.

Its a big read but i managed to get through it.
What I really love is that he tells you that if you use the seven keys you WILL lose weight. Its very good to know that you can be successful whereas before I always had doubts.

I cant believe all those years i thought if i went on a diet id be ok.
Its just great to know that i can control myself.
Just before i read the book i said to myself that i have no willpower...and as i read the book dr phil says that willpower will not help you lose weight as it is based on emotions.
Im glad he said that cos i was feeling hopeless.

2 days now ive been keeping to the keys and its working (yay for me) 8)

I love this forum....its good to read the messages and even better when ppl respond :D

Gee, you read it quickly. Good on you, Siana-leah.

Like many others on the site, I've been a yo-yo dieter for years, the big problem was exactly that, that I was on a diet which meant that once I'd lost weight I'd come off the diet and ignore all the good things I learnt, you know, like everything in moderation.

I thank my lucky stars that the penny finally dropped, I have now made a lifestyle change and will never be 'on a diet' again. Part of this is due to Dr Phil's book and part from experience.

You'll definitely get there, slowly but surely. Some of us will slip up along the way but let's face it, we are only human and as long as we get back on track and learn from the slip up, it's all good.

Good luck, look forward to seeing your weight loss sucess,
Angel

Way to go siana with your attitude you will go far.
You did read it in record time - good on you.
It took me a while to read it as some sections were alot harder than others for me.It was quite thought provoking in a good way of course...

I am looking forwardto reading more of your posts. This is YOUR year to shine!

Im determined not to fail

Postby Siana-leah » Tue Feb 21, 2006 8:21 pm

Hello
I know it seemed kinda quick reading the book. Well im actually reading it again bacause as he says in the book, willpower will not help you.
I got excited reading it and the emotion fizzled out.
I havent gone off track but because I have stopped eating the bad food the past 4 days im going through withdrawals or something from not pumping myself with all that sugar.

So im going to keep working on each of those keys.
I have decided that the people in this forum will form a part of key seven (as it already is for everybody here).

Its the second time reading it but im getting even more things from it that i missed before.

My goal for the next few days is to keep thinking positively.

Thank you very much for posting to me.

Siana-leah,

Fennel Tea is really good to stop sugar cravings (got this info from Naturopath). You could also try fruit - you still get sugar but at least its natural sugar . . .

Hope it helps,
