I'mj sick of all this "you're obese" crap. Ok I'm 84kg which is a bit much, but I am nowhere near obese. I'm a size 14 in clothes. Even the doctor said that I do not need to lose weight, I don't ahve any health reasons to, I only need to if I want to do it to look better.

According to my BMI I should weigh between 51 and 67kg. When I weighed 68kg I was pretty close to being anorexic. I had no meat on me at all. According to doctors and dieticiens I should aim for 70-75kg and tone up and it will be fine.

The really bad thing is that I was looking into joiing the military and they go by your BMI, so if I want to join, I ahve to get to an unhealthy weight for me.

How is that fair?

Im 164cm But even when i weighd 8kg, my body fat % was 23%.

I think they should focus more on fitness level rather than weight.

do you have a big build?

I'm only asking cause I am the same height as you, but have a small build so I can be 60kg and not look too thin, but it all depends on your build.

I'm medium. But there's also the fact that i have naturally big breasts. before i put on weight I was a 12DD and that contributes a fair bit.

I think the military should be like the police force and go on %body fat instead.

But I will keep training for it, but I won't let myself get to an unhealthy weight. You never know, I could lose the weight and not look anorexic at 65kg, lol

I suggest you get a pinch test done. It's far more accurate than BMI and I think for that sort of work they'd be far more willing to look at actual fat percentage.

Haylez, I know hun, it isn't fair... but if you really want this Army position, you're going to have to do what they ask. It's the same with the ridiculous VCE/HSC scores you need for medicine at uni, it's not fair, but it's what they ask. I suggest you work out what you'll have to do to make the requirements instead of criticising the system.

I am your height, and I am aiming for the lower end of the scale. The highest I've ever been is 65kgs but I looked really unhealthy at that weight. That being said, I don't have DDs, but I doubt boobs weigh more than 5kgs... Random question- how much do boobs weigh? LOL :P
My weight- 58kgs :-) (BMI- 21.9)

Thanks. I'll try my best to get to the level they ask adn I may be able to negotiate with them, lol.

Both my boobs together weigh 5.5kg, so that's about 2.75kg each. If I cut them off I will ahve reached my goal of 80kg YAY. (The scales were cold, lol)

I heard somewhere that the army will pay for breast reductions aswell, so that will be good, lol.

i wouldntr think the army would ask for unhealthy weight people. tht would just be silly, how can someone who is unhealthily underweight do all the strenuous stuff, they would be better off looking for someone who is fit. I reckon u can still get a good bmi without weighing a really small amount. but i dont know much about all that crap. no one should ever be made to get their bodies down to an unhealthy or uncomfortable weight.

i feel strongly on this.

Its probably something that is covered under their health cover if its considered a medical reason.

Mine would be if I chose to get it done. My neck is stuffed because of my breasts, but I dont know if I want to get it done as I want to breastfeed my future babies.

yeah same here, my neck and back are screwed, but I don't like the look of the op. I'd rather wait and see what they're like after I lose weight, I'm just worried they're going to be saggy.

They couldn't take unhealthy weight people for thoise reasons, so they might take everything into consideration. I don't know, I might ring someone and ask.
