When do u weigh?

Postby carleyjt » Sat Mar 04, 2006 6:42 am

Just wondering when everyone weighs themselves. I have been brought up to do it first thing in the morning before i have eaten or drunk anything and was wondering if this is what others do.

Yes I weigh myself in the morning - but I read somewhere that you have to be out of bed a while before you are meant to weigh your self. So I normally get up, check my emails, tidy up around here a bit, do a little exercise then weigh myself before a shower. The have breakfast..

On weigh in day, I get out of bed, go to the toilet, strip off to get ready for my morning shower and then weigh myself before getting into the shower. I usually do it twice to make sure it says the same thing.

I usually weigh in the morning after going to the loo to make sure that I'm not weighing my bowel contents too. (what a lovely thing to say on the internet  )
35kg lost. (November 2005 - October 2006)
15kg gained again (as at October 2010).
Back to the drawing board - Let's do this thing!

Yep I'm a morning weigher too, off to the loo then strip down and jump on the scales.

Emma, glad to see I'm not the only one jumping on the scales more than once.

I think you get a more accurate weight when you do it first thing in the morning because throughout the day our weight can fluctuate about a kg from eating, drinking, exercising etc.

I think the most important thing is to make sure you weigh around the same time on the same day every week, they say that this way you'll get the most accurate reading.

I also make sure that I'm weigh in the same thing, my birthday suit at least this way I can't blame different clothing for a fluctuation.

Never did make sense that people at WW would turn up in leggings one week, jeans the next, especially since every 100gm counts!

I am amazed at the fluctuations that occur during the day. As i have digital scales now i weighed myself at different times during the day and i gained a kilo or so. I even weighed myself before bed and again when i woke up and i had lost 1kg in my sleep.

Maybe i am sleepwalking  Ha ha

Its amazing that you drop a kilo over night. Sometimes I have dropped 1.5kg overnight. Depends how many times I have to pee during the night!!! I weigh myself in the mornings after going to the loo and taking off my jim jams to get dressed into my clothes ready to go for a walk etc! Like this morning I am exercising later on when the kids go to the school so I havent weighed myself. I do try not to weigh every day either. I'm still sitting here in my jim jams with my cup of tea and about to have a bowl of cereal so there would be no point in weighing myself today. I try to make weigh in days a Monday, which probably isnt a good choice as I tend to eat more crap on a monday, but I also will do it later in the week as well, thursday or friday, as I am much better controlled on the food during the week!
