What are you carrying - this will make you think!

My excess weight is equal to me carrying my dog (an Anatolian Sheperd) at 35kg + 1 Cocker Spaniel or 4 chichauchaus.

No wonder I get sore feet and legs carrying all that around :!:

I remember an ad for one of those weightloss clinics quite a few years ago now which had Paula Duncan walking along with 5 or 6 bags of oranges slong over her shoulder.

Visual things like this have a far greater impact than just talking about it.

when I lost 20kg a few years ago I went to the supermarket and picked up a 10kg bag of rice. I could hardly lift it. And I thought to myself, "I was carrying 2 of these around!"

Its amazing when you can actually see & feel it.

I agree! Mum was saying just yesterday "I know when you lose weight, as it's a slow process, you sometimes can't see where you've lost it.. but could you imagine if you zapped back into your old self at your old weight for a moment? You'd probably collapse"

I love my Mum, she's full of words like those :P Hehe. She makes the best friend in the world. But anyways! Those blocks of butter you buy are 500grams... Could you imagine how many of those we've lost??? I could make a giant pyrimid out of the almost-50 of those I've lost since February 2006.

I think about that when I'm carrying dumbells around the gym.... I think, this is what it would be like if I put on 16kg, or whatever it is that I'm holding. And I'm just walking like 5m or so at the most. I couldn't imagine carrying those around with me all day

That's a really good idea guys - thanks!

I've only lost 2kgs so far and was starting to get a little discouraged as I felt like it wasn't happening quickly enough. When I get home I'm going to look at the 2 x 500gm margarine tubs we have in the fridge, imgaine it doubled then think of it smeared all over my tummy, thighs, butt, back....you get the picture!! YUCK!!

My PT made me carry around the weight I had lost in a shoulder bag while we did our circuit this morning. I can barely walk right now. 20kgs hanging off my shoulders on top of the weights I was lifting and training with.

Almost broke me.

My friend who is a relativly big gurl and totally stunning says the same thing all the time, Oh Ive only lost 2kilos, 6kilos whatever .....like its not enough for her to proud of...

I say to her all the time "Oh only"....have you lifted 6 kilos of potatoes, thats a sh!tload of weight!

it might not sound like much but try walking around with it again and you'll see the difference.
Every little bit off is better then any little bit on.
