There was one of those snide, smug, self opinionated, stuck up pretentious juicer bodybuilding f%&*#*ts at the gym this arvo. He was talking to my PT when I walked up to him to confirm our appt time for tomorrow as it had changed. My PT introduced me to him and told the guy I had dropped the best part of 20kgs in a little under 2 months so far, and the $^&$ went "Keep it up, it might start showing soon"

I was [] that close to wiping the smug, self congratulatory, onanistic smirk from his face.

20kg that's fantastic! There are many people here who are no doubt inspired by you efforts, I am for one. I have a saying specially for these situations and it is true - Feel sorry for him, it can't be nice living in a head that thinks like that. You will lose the weight, he's stuck with his pathetic personality.

I don't know how he said it, but that was totally uncalled for.

On a different perspective, he might have not meant to be a dick... even if he sounded it. He might have meant "Keep it up because soon you'll be heaps more toned" or something... but bodybuilders dont think like normal people, because they're caught up in their own fitness world...

I've had a personal trainer cut me off as I was talking to him about my work out and stuff (at a party, he was a friend of a friend)... I was just talking to him to make conversatin, and you talk to people about things that relate to them right?

Well I was saying something like "I've been doing interval runs and a 5-set building program..." and he just cuts me off as I'm talking "pffft mate mate mate! just tell me what you want to do"

I didnt really want to keep talking after that. I haven't seen him since and I dont really want to... he was boasting about how he'd lost 16 kilos and now is a PT and stuff.

:/ Some people get so far up their own butts when they achieve their ideal body and completely forget that they were once in a position where they weren't pleased with how they looked, and realised they needed to work hard and make difficult changes. To take a stab at someone who is going through exactly what you are, is taking a stab at yourself without realising it.

This makes them morons who aren't able to relate their experiences with anyone elses because they can only see their own achievements. Its where confident meets arrogant. And at the end of the day, no matter how good a person looks, no one wants an arrogant prick.

I've also noticed how they seem to congregate at gyms. The very reason I'm staying away from one until I feel more confident in my body to take the verbal beatings I'm sure to encounter 0_0

Megan, the gym I go to (Beach House Fitness Centre) is normally excellent, this guy was the first juicer I have seen in there. Don't let f$$ktards like them stop you from going to the gym.

My PT did say something like "easy tiger", but by the same token, unless you have been in our situation there is nothing overtly offensive or annoying about the comment, so he can't really be held accountable for not leaping to my defense.

This bloke was just a tosser, at the time I felt like belting him (and if it wasn't for the fact I would have been kicked out of the gym I would have) but I'm not going to let him bother me. I am back off to the gym again now for some more punishment (PT session).

It's that exact reason why I attend fernwood I don't have that extra worry about those sort of people and well my fernwood is really good all the staff are really freindly and helpful and most of the ladies I have met that attend fernwood are really nice.

I just feel sorry for you men who want to attend a gym without the worry of the better looking (and sometimes stuck up other men/women who may be looking down on you), that's partly why my DH won't go to a gym and just sticks to cricket (and very soon ballroom dancing when he has a night off from work).
Mum to three kids, second mum to my 18yo sister, and married to the biggest kid my DH. Also pet mummy to one dog, two cats and three fish.
