Postby JP1 » Tue Jan 22, 2008 1:13 pm

new pita chips? "Pitos" 80% less fat than potato chips, baked not fried, cholesterol free, 6.3g per 100g and .3 saturated compared to nearly 30g fat per 100g normal crisps and some great flavours too... Spicy Moroccan... Tzatziki... Sweet Chilli & Sour Cream... Tangy Tomato& Red Pepper Salsa and Smokehouse BBQ... available in Woolies dunno about Coles but expect so..

I'm eating some Spicy Moroccan now with lo cal Tzatziki dip... yums!

Sound yummy!!

My problem - even with the 'low fat' variety, is that if I eat one, I eat the whole packet!!

You can put chocolate in front of me and I could barely even look at it, but chips...or any variations.....YUM!!!

I can't have chips - doesn't matter how much fat is in them, the potato is high in carbs and the flavouring usually has sugar in it...

SO, I have taken a liking to having a Chicken Schnitzel from the chicken shop (on it's own, no bread)... unfortunately it has been deep-fried with bread crumbs, so there are carbs in it, but not as much... I understand this is a no-go zone for the fat-content-watchers here, but this is the nature of a low-carb/high-protein diet.

The schnitzel is had when I'm feeling like indulging myself, of course... I grab it with a coffee... But on a usual day, I've been having a small tin of tuna fillets with olive oil.

When I go to the movies, I have a nut/fruit mix... low-GI, low-carb :)

Chicken Shnitzel Makes me feel sick everytime i Eat it. Not sure if its the crumbs on it or the oil but cant stomach it. Even Parma cant do it.

Having said that Chicken is my ALL TIME FAV food. I love it yummmmy. And only eat Chips or stuff like that as a special treat.

If you find yourself going overtop with chips (once I start going I find it hard to stop)... try getting smaller packets and refuse to open anymore after you've finished the first.

I don't believe in anything but moderation!

This is a lifestyle for me - not a diet...

And if you divide the bag into 4 - there's a serving size!

Losing weight shouldn't feel like a punishment!

And John - the sour cream and chilli ones are delish! Way better than pretzels any day!!!

Of course not, but there are consequences to every decision we make in life...

You shouldn't feel like you're being punished, but at the end of the day, you're (not specifically you, but plural) the one that wants to lose weight... therefore we have to make decisions.

Today I was going to buy a schnitzel on my way home... but I decided not to... I really feel like one, and I could feel like I'm being punished, but then I remind myself I'm doing it for me!
