How to shrink your waist?

Postby Shay » Thu Jan 31, 2008 2:20 pm

Hello everyone!

I've always had an issue with my waist and hips. Even when i was a size 8, they were still there. I really want to get rid of them. Any tips on how to?

I have tried ab exercises, but they only tighten my ab muscles, the stomach fat doesnt budge

I'm aiming to lose about 3cm a month :D

You cant spot reduce.

To lose the fat on your waist/hips you will need to lose body fat.

From what i've read you just have to lose weight.

Unless you have surgery, you'll just have to lose fat from all over. But the best way to do that is to combine a healthy diet with cardio and weight training. Doing crunches and ab workouts wont do much to burn that fat on your stomach.

Abs and core strengthening work is good for tightening the muscles, which might make your waist and stomach smaller. But as for the fat, like Ella says, nothing can be done to spot reduce it. I'm in the same boat, I have a stubborn fat deposit on my belly which will not go away... ever! I even tried the RF fat reduction treatment and still nothing, just a lot of pain :(

That stubborn fat is probably genetic, or is that type of fat cell that will just never go away without surgery. Everyone has these parts on their body. It sucks.
