Ice Coffee variation

Postby HappyBella55 » Mon Feb 11, 2008 7:44 pm

OMG I was craving an ice coffee so bad today. Walked the news agency close to work and had a look at the nutritional panel of an ice coffee milk. Holy :!: :!:  the diet ice coffees aren't very diet friendly  - so full of sugar

Was still craving an ice coffee, so I walked to the mall and bought a Tony Furgerson shaker from the chemist, walked back to work and made my own iced coffee: skim milk, coffee, ice and a sweet n low. It was delish and so low in calories and sugar. It did wonders for my coffee craving and I reduced my sugar intake just by making my own:D

Oh yeah they are definitely deceiving.

I've never thought of making them that way before. I'm more of a tea drinker and rarely drink coffee. It hit the spot though.

I can see myself drinking more and more of these yummy ice coffees

Yes, I had a similar revelation with ice tea! I love ice tea, but it so unbelievably high in sugar. If you make a strong infusion of your favourite flavoured black tea (I love Blue Mountain and Creme Brulee from T2 (in Newtown or Bondi Junction)), then pour it over a glass FULL of ice, add sweetner to taste, you will have a refreshing low cal ice tea. Yum!
