Why don't you just try someone else's scales and see if you're the same reading?

Then you'll a) know yours are accurate and b) have saved money if they are

Hey Hysterical,

good idea, but tis okay, me & hubby are going to go & have a look at some fandankal ones this arvo that have your muscle, fat, water, etc and are more precise. Our one's are YEARS old, so we're probably due for a set and then we can stop kidding ourselves. :) :(

Thanks mate

Hey Suse

At least you've been warned that you might be more than your old scales are saying. Fingers crossed its not too much. I love the new scales because I can see exactly how much I have lost on a daily basis.

Let me know how you go when you have weighed yourself on the new scales.

Its amazing how scales play with our minds. Have you noticed your clothes getting bigger or anything. Try and focus on cm's and your clothes...

Gee I should take on some of my own advice....

Oh Poo,

well they tell me i'm 2.5kg heavier than i thought i was. Sigh :( I'm not too upset though coz i'm getting to a place where i feel comfortable & happy with my body. I'll keep plodding along, & just do it slowly. At least i'm living in the real world now.

I wonder if anyone has ever bought new scales and they've said they weigh LESS than they thought....haha, only in our dreams.

Oh well, back to the drawing board and my lettuce leaves...hehe :(

Hi Suse

That's not to bad & you knew to expect something so wasn't such a rude shock. Can't wait to read about your progress & see that 2.5 vanish in no time :D

Scales - even uncalibrated ones - measure the journey your on so if your losing you really are losing ! 8)

Also probability states that eventually someone has to buy a set of scales and get pleasantly suprised :D

Hey Cass,

yeah thanks, now you and i are both in the same boat..hehe.

Karnak - you're right, a loss is a loss and the scales were going down. I keep thinking though, i wonder for how long (how many years  ) i thought i weighed less than i did. This means, when i got married in 06, and i thought i weighed 67kg, i actually weighed 69kg, and for all the years i was 76kg i was really 78kg, and when i was 9 mths pregnant and concerned i weighed 92 kg (packing on 18kg) i was actually 94kg.   Oh well, now i know...think we'll keep all these revelations our little secrets hey? :)

This happened to me as well. My old scales said my starting weight was 87kg, but they were dodgy, old and towards the end of there little bathroom floor life. So I got a new digital, body fat % set from weight watches and they said I was 93kg :( 6kg more then I thought I was horrified needless to say it sure gave me the kick up the bum I needed. To this day I still fantasize about the other scales lol. If I was using the I would be 77kg *sigh*

Me too, I would be in double digits already! Not to worry, hopefully I won't be too far off it tomorrow when I weigh in (fingers crossed anyway)
