So what do you think?

Postby KimE » Fri Apr 21, 2006 7:11 pm

The chap that sits next to me at work is being very supportive and asks me each Friday about my weigh in or if he doesn't I volunteer the info. This week my weight didn't change. I know why of course as I keep a food and exercise diary so I can keep myself honest and though over Easter I didn't eat too much food my choices weren't so great. The chap said maybe I had plateaued...I don't think so in this instance.

However, it got me wondering. What do you all think of this plateau business? Is it real or is it just what happens when we don't put in the effort? A lot of people talk about staying the same weight for a period of time during weight loss is it our bodies trying to catch up or perhaps conserve what it has? How do we stay motivated through a 'plateau' period?

I have too much time on my hands tonight...
