OverEaters Anonymous

Postby MissE » Tue Apr 29, 2008 4:41 pm

I'm thinking about heading along to a meeting and checking it out and I wondered if anyone had ever looked into it?

It's not a weight loss group, its a support group for compulsive overeaters. Theres no weigh in, diet tips, or anything of the sort, just a group to help you come to terms with compulsive eating, your triggers and to help you learn to control yourself again.

I have a terrible compulsive eating problem, food is my crutch and my punishment. I eat when I'm sad, angry or stressed, when I'm happy I cook piles of intricate foods, when I'm down on myself I literally punish myself by eating myself sick. It's horrible and I'm sick of it.

I know there are a few other compulsive bingers on the board, and I just wondered if anyone could give input.

I have looked into it, but have never been before. It sounds really good though. I have listened to their CDs - the 12 steps etc.

Will be interested to know what you think, if you decide to go :D
