Hi All,

I am getting my Wii Fit on Thursday. I'm so excited!!

For those of you that have one, I would like to know if you use it in combination with going to the gym? I was hoping to use this for a few months until I feel comfortable going to the gym. At the moment I feel too fat to go.

I am planning to do an hour of Wii fit plus walking to and from work. Do you think this will be enough for weight loss? This will be in combination with a low cal diet of course :)

I've found an interesting fact about Wii. It's now being considered as one of the best fitness tools. Sadly, according to Japanese hardcore gamers, wii is boring because they think this is not a gaming console anymore.

Ok girls... Tell me what I need to buy!

A wii?

A wii fit?

Anything else?

Someone spoke to me about needing batteries... And an extra console?

What games do I get?

Confusion is massive!!! :?

I just got a Wii Fit today... its AWESOME!!!!

You need:

Wii Console (comes with wii sports)
Wii Fit

And thats really all you need, you can get an extra controller, and an extra nunchuck....
K-Mart are doing a wii console+wii fit special... $499 as a bundle and you get the console, wii sports and the wii fit pack. then you can get any other games you want, i want to get cooking mama but they were out of stock :( brunswick bowling looks good though

If you buy the console and games do you need to buy the wii fit thing? I was considering it but it does seem alot of money.
Need to get motivated.

If you buy the console by itself i think its about $400? The wii fit would be $150 ontop of that.. but you can get other games that don't use the wii fit but i don't really think they get you moving like the wii fit does

I wouldn't say its "real" exercise, but you can work it in with other things. Like it has a jogging thing you litterally have to jog on the spot, the yoga is pretty good i like that best so far, weight training is good too. alot of them are about balance which is good but not really exercise. Plus it weighs you and tracks your flexability and balance progress etc

I also suggest investing in a Wiimote recharger. Saves having to buy new batteries for your Wiimotes (the controller)

I have another Wii question - I hope someone might know the answer.

Is there a dance component? I know you can buy a dance mat - is that what you use for the wii fit or is there another game which that is used for.

I tired a Dance game at Intencity today - the one where you have to copy the moves on the screen and it was so much fun - I have never attempted it before but I would love to try it on a regular basis- seemed like a good fun workout.

Thanks,
meegs

Dance Dance Revolution for the Wii has a dance mat. The Wii fit has the balance board that is used for a dance component of the Wii fit program.

I can now join the band of Wii fitters although I had to grab a raincheck as Target had sold out of them. Now all I have to do is get the actual Wii :D .
