if you were to give someone only three tips on what to do and how to lose weight, what would they be?

my three suggestion are

1 avoid foods that are high in sugars use sugar free product.
2 eat your foods slower
3 don't use that food which high in fat and calories

My three:

Carry a water bottle around where ever you go and drink from that only. Any other fluids should make up no more then ten percent of your daily total.

Walk (or other cardio excercise) 30 to 60 minutes per day or more every day.

Read the nutritional labels on food and choose items which are low in calories, sugars and saturated fats.

(And a forth one: make fresh unprocessed food; meat, fish, fruit, veges and whole grain products the major part of your diet.)

what are some tips for lowering your calorie count?
i have found it very hard to change my diet to keep an eye out for calories.. i just can't seem to do it.
any tips for making the jump to eating low calories a little easier?
mainly it is because i am still quite young, go to uni and live with my parents. when i am home, i eat meals with my family, which my mother cooks, and when i'm out i'm eating fast food....
i doubt i can really change what my mum will cook hehehehe
what are some healthier low calorie options when eating out?

i dont want this to sound bad but from the excuses your making i dont think your ready to lose weight
it needs to be something that u make a priority, take food with you instead of eating take away, make your own meals when your staying at home (alot of things can be made in bulk and frozen)
its a lifestyle change and unless your ready to make the changes its almost impossible to lose weight, theres nothing easy about losing weight unfortunately :)

My 3 tips:
1. avoid anything made with grain foods ( that is a lot of foods, cereals, breads, cakes, biscuits etc).
2. drink lots and lots of water (at least 2 litres daily)
3. eat natural fresh foods like meat and vegetables (no packet foods, tinned foods, processed foods)

This is the paleolithic type diet which is based on the caveman diet. Its the way we were designed to eat. You only have to look at the illnesses and obesity which has been increasing ever since we put carbohydrates at the top of the food pyramid!

For me...

1. Get the calorie intake under control. I really can't go much above 1500cal, and I'm a pig, so it's hard :(
2. Excercise, of course!
3. Ditch the carbs. This works wonders for me :)

I think as well, getting your head right. If you're not ready, it won't happen. And make sure you have tonnes of support, if not from family and friends, then from online forums.... like this one :D

1. Drink lots of water
2. Burn what you put in in diliberate exercise
3. Read the nutrition info before you put it in your mouth
