Xndo - knew it was too good to be true!!

Postby Lush Gal » Fri Jul 18, 2008 12:15 pm

Well, I called the chemist (a different one to where I signed up for Xndo) and it seems I have an old book .... So my daily plan was wrong - I was eating far too much! :(

So from what I have been told by an Xndo rep, the plan seems to be basically Tony Ferguson, but you get to have one carb serve a day (unlike Tony Ferguson) and also one dairy serve (again not allowed on TF).

So a typical day is ....

BREAKFAST
Shake

MORNING TEA
Fruit

LUNCH
Shake + as many unlimited vegies as you can handle (I like to get inventive and make up vegie soups and casseroles to munch on all day long!)

AFTERNOON TEA
Low fat yoghurt or glass of skim milk + fruit

DINNER
Protein serve
Unlimited veg
Carb serve (potato, rice, cous cous, pasta, bread roll etc etc)

Plus you should aim for 1.5-2L of water, limit or completely restrict alcohol. Same as TF. BUT and this is key for me (being the Coke Zero addict I am) you don't have to cut caffeine - so I can have a cup of tea with skim m ilk and Splenda with breakfast and my afternoon tea Coke Zero (yay!!!).

So as much as it was dissapointing to realise that the diet was more restrictive than first thought, it is still waaaaaay easier than TF!

I'm feeling a little bit down, but hey - chin up and back on the horse and all that jazz!

At least you found out now rather than later :)

I like the idea of unlimited veggies- yum. And caffeine, can't live without that lol.

Good luck with it :D

The unlimited vegies are great - it's basically everything except the starchy ones plus a limit on avocado to 1/2 an avo three times per week.

It's the same with TF, and I got very inventive back then ....

Mashed "notatoes" are a TF staple (steam cauliflower till quite tender then process with a dollop of Lite Philly)
Allowed veg soup made with anything and everything (baby Bok Choy goes well), whack in some lowv salt stock and a tin of tomatoes and you're laughing!
Allowed veg rattatoulle (sp?) and curries .... and now I can have a serve of dairy I think I will be adding a generous dollop of low fat natural yoghurt to the top of these!

And salads, stirfrys .... you end up thinking you will turn into a head of brocolli or a stalk of celery in the end!

But I must say my skin g-l-o-w-e-d on TF due to all the vegies plus the two serves of fruit (I'm really slack at remembering to eat fruit), not to mention the water.

Do you have to spend money on being a member of Xndo? Can you just use protein shakes and use the same philosophy as the Xndo program?

I guess you could just do protein shakes? I like the weekly weigh-in, diary and the convnience of the sachets - plus they are all natural no nasty aspartamine (sp?) which appealed to me.

Ahh fair enough :) I've tried protein shakes before and I just couldn't live without chewing on my food and find they didn't really make me feel full or content. I hope it works for you!! My nanny lost 80kg on TF, she forgot to wean herself off them and when she just went off them, she put on 15kg but has managed to keep the rest off which was really great :) She's beginning to teach herself to eat properly to get the 15kg back off. I think shakes are really good for rapid weight loss if you are worried about health complications, but I think ultimately you can't keep it up for the rest of your life if it's expensive which is why I asked about the protein shakes. I bought a 375g Bottle of Natures Way protein shake and it was about $9 for 13 serves.

Yeah, I've tried Women's Whey but didn't stick to it - the iea of a wekly wegh in plus the ease of pre-measured sachets at work was what convinced me to give Xndo a go. I''m thinking I'll stay on it until my b'day (2 months or so) then switch to just sensible, calorie & carb controlled eating.
