Fruit intake

The DRI 4 fruit is 2 per day. How bad is it to have more than 2? I know its a lot of natural sugars. If added to daily kj intake it wouldn't matter would it?

I have more than two when im being healthy and i think its better than eating chocolate, cakes, biscuites or sweets so i wouldnt restrict it too much if you have a sweet tooth.

As for kj's etc i dont really know..

Be interested to see what others think..

that's what i figured. I'd rather be eating fruit as snack rather than processed food much healthier that way.

It adds to your carb count, and some are lower GI than others. I find when I'm not dieting I tend to forget fruit - eating bread, biccies, cheese etc in its place.

On TF (last year) and now on Xndo, I really look forward to my two pieces of "allowed" fruit, and it does wonders for my bowel too. Sorry if that's TMI! :oops:

I say if you are enjoying it and eating it in lieu of refined and processed foods, go for it.

I have at least 2 serves of fruit a day but usually more (like 3) Its definaly better than eating rubbish..

I don't think eating too much fruit is necessarily a bad thing, especially if it stops you from eating choccies or other refined sugars. I heard somewhere that 1.5 medium apples is 100kcal. Better than an anzac cookie :)

Not all fruit is created equal. Some of it is great, full of vitamins and oh so good for us. Others are just suger with less to offer. It's pretty much all better then cake though!

i eat 4-5 pieces a day, thats normal for me. im a vegan so i make up for meat eggs dairy etc with more fruit & vegies
