Indian Food?

Going out to dinner tonight 4 indian. I've never eaten indian out, what would be the best selection to make - non red meat dishes?

Dhal with steamed rice is probably the best choice. Just make sure it's not cooked with coconut cream.

Butter chicken is delicious... but I think it might be very high in calories, not sure as I haven't had indian since I started loosing weight but if you want my opinion for what tastes best it has to be butter chicken. If you were wondering whats better calorie wise you would probably be able to tell from the menu, anything thats not creamy or very saucy. Hope you have a lovely night out :)

i ended up getting lentil dhal with mixed vegetables didn't eat rice did have a small piece of garlic nann bread to dip in the dhal.

When we have Indian (my favourite food) I have a chicken zindaloo (hotter than a vindaloo) and all the trimmings naan, rice and cocktails samosas. Not the healthy choice but I figure if I'm have an Indian I'm not going to bother with calorie/fat content I'm just going to enjoy it as we don't do it very often :D .

I have Indian probably once every one or two months, If I was having it more regualry I would go with Tandoori Chicken or Chicken Masala, which is pretty healthy for you.

however, its a real treat so I usually get butter chicken curry with rice :D
Sometimes even a naan bread.

Its good to treat yourself every now and again.
