Scales - which are best?

Postby Fireball » Tue Oct 28, 2008 9:48 pm

I note that many people list their weights in the 100s of grams. My scales will only measure 1/2 kg, even then I am skeptical about the accuracy. Can anyone recommend a type of scale that is reasonably priced and accuarate?

Thought of the day - How can we measure 30gms of fat on kitchen scales but I can't measure 30gms on my butt?

Hi,
I have Homedics scales that I got from David Jones (with vouchers)

They were expensive... and my children managed to get them waterlogged, so they didn't work after a while... However I rang them (the number is on the bottom) and they replaced them free of charge which I just thought was the best service.

Now I move them when the kids have their bath!!!

CHeers,
Meegs :D

I think kilograms is easier to count, but if you want an accurate scale, grams scale it is. You can count it so details, but don't worry too much about scales, as long as you doing your diet in the right way

I got a set of cheap electronic scales from an online store. I find them accurate enough and they measure in 100g increments.

I just chucked my digital scales (literally lol) and got an el-cheapo mechanical scale from Big W. The digital one did read in 100g increments, which is good, but I foud I became a little obsessed with all the small changes. Plus I dont think it was all that accurate - I could weigh myself, go off have dinner and come back and it would give the same number! Stupid thing :|

Anyway, I think the mechanical one is more accurate, plus I cannot read the fine detail, I can just see a rough estimate.... if I squint!
