How Much exercise.

Postby gabrielle » Sun Nov 09, 2008 11:50 pm

Hey im just wondering how often people exercise.
come thursday this week i will no longer be in school so i have decided to join a gym, im going with a friend to keep motivate.
so how often does everyone hit the gym/get exercising.
does anyone go everyday? do you learn to love it?
im young so am hoping my body will respond well to the extra attention im giving it, but i dont want to over do it i think 5 days is good.
also. what is everyones favourite gym equipment. personally i love the rower machine its so fun and works all body parts.

Good onya for giving the gym a go hey,

I go 5 times a week and mostly do the les mills classes. Sometimes I just do my own thing on the treddy or the elliptical and go walking once or twice a week for a change to the gym.

I really wanna try the rower one day as Ive heard it is meant to be really good...but when things are really good they are usually soooo hard :P

I'm an every day person, have been for quite some time. To tell the truth, it's taken it's toll on me very badly... my hormones are all over the shop, I'm having time off work, seeing a specialist, etc, etc. It's all bad!

Great to hear you say that you don't want to overdo it! :D Just do what you can. Make sure it's challenging, and up the intensity when it starts getting easy.. but make sure you've got a little gas left in your tank at the end of it. Don't go killing yourself 7 days a week! Let your body tell you when you've done enough or not enough

Also, post workout nutrition. Get on the net and do some research. What you eat in the few hours following your workout makes a big difference to your recovery and your results.

At the moment I got to the gym 3 or 4 times a week and walk once or twice a varies quite a bit depending on what I have on for the week!
Once I get more of this weight off and my body can handle it, I want to do at aleast a little bit of exercise everyday!

I do cardio workout, including walking and running for 2 times a day. At least 20 minutes each. I think some people like to workout by themself, and some people prefer to have a personal coach. Its all depends on you

I walk every morning except when its raining as i take my son with me. I then also do some cardio and weights for about 45min. All up its about 90min of exercise each day.
I find i need to exercise every day as if i dont then i lose motivation to quick.
