yes yes yes and yes! You can do this sunshine. As you may remember, I too struggle with my love of wine (or rather, the buzz that comes with it) but this Jan I'm going cold turkey and giving it up completely. I think I went for 2 whole weeks this past year without alcohol and before that was in 2006 when I gave up for a full month.
I know only too well how those empty calories are killing my other efforts, not to mention the food that goes along with drinking ... and recovery. And December has been a HUGE month with so many nights out and too much drinking, even mid-week which I don't usually allow myself to do.
So yes, it can and will be done. Join my January Detox challenge. We can do this together. For me it's all or nothing - if I allow myself just one night of alcohol per week it will blow out into a bender which is doing more damage than having 2-3 glasses of wine two or three times per week. But I find it hard to stop after two glasses, which is why it's got to be NOTHING for a while.
It makes perfect sense re getting the buzz from somewhere other than alcohol. Feeling fit and strong beats it hands down, that's for sure
Just keep moving! And don't be lazy...
