Does anyone take dance to keep fit and health?

I'm starting back up on ballet and tap this jan - exercise without feeling like it's exercise. :)

I wish i could dance! I used to do ballet as a kid but just dont have the coordination for it  It is a great way to keep fit though, ballet would help strengthen the muscles and keep you lean- ever seen an obese ballet dancer? If you have then they will be soon looking skinny as you will be.
Any kind of dance is great cardio and is fun so you dont feel like your 'Exercising'

I used to do tap, jazz and ballet in my 20s and lost heaps of weight doing it... and had lots of fun at the same time. Sadly I can't afford the classes any more. I have some ballet exercise DVDs but it's not the same thing. So the limits of my dance exercise are my Bollywood dance DVD and the Playstation 2 dance mat games.

I hope you really enjoy your dance classes. It's great exercise and lots of fun!

I like dancing in clubs and its awesome exercise, just not sure if it counter balances out the 5 vodka redbulls it takes to get me on the dance floor, lol. I would love to take some sort of dance class though! A lot of my friends do salsa..

I love going out for a bit of a boogie and would love to be able to dance... dance well, that is. I'm not a very well coordinated person and I tried that Body Jam class once and lets just say ->

Classes haven't started yet. 2 weeks till term 1 begins can't wait i'm really excited. I'll be doing ballet, jazz and hip hop. I'm so excited i'm not even thinking of it as exercise just as something fun to do.

I do latin dancing every Tuesday night, its awesome. You don't need a partner so some girls go and we have a blast. We do routines and its a great workout. Can I just brag for a bit, I represented nsw in ballroom and latin dancing, so I had been wanting to get back into it, but couldn't get my hubby to come, so this is the next best thing.

Dancing is great and I agree with you that its doesn't feel like exercise because its so much fun!
