I look at my measurments to remind myself how far i have come and look at my before and during photoes which really shows the difference. Plus, when you really truely want it it is easier to stay motivated. you just have to know why your doing it

I look at how far I have come, and the much smaller clothes I can now wear, and know that I can never go back to what I was.

i have had a bad week in regards to motivation. i dont know why, as im usually ok with it... but like the others have said, i look at how far i have come not so much how far i have to go, if i focus too much on how far i have to go, it all seems to overwhelming... this is where mini goals come in handy...

also when something becomes a habit its easier to maintain, so in the initial stages exercise it compared to being put in a blender, but after time it becomes part of your daily routine and its the same as most other daily things..

Nunu, I never really thought about single digits! OMG that is so exciting- Who knew 11 was so close to single digits lol- Thank you for pointing that out, it has just given me the incentive to push myself harder to get to those single numbers.

I am sure that with a bit of motivation and support you will be in the same position soon. It all takes time

Personally, I take one day at a time. Slow and steady wins the race!

It also helps to set short term goals over the span of, say, a week vs. a month.

I'm about 15lbs into my diet right now and the only way I could've done it is with weekly goals (e.g. I'll lose 5lbs this week, and then set a goal next week based on my results). That way you break your entire goal up into segments.

That's the best advice I can offer. After that, seeing the results in the mirror is the best way to stay motivated. :)

I just think of how much better I feel at my current weight than when I was nearly 10kg heavier. Then I imagine how much better I'll feel when I lose another few kilos.

I also borrow a lot of weight loss books from the library. Some are great, others are a bit rubbish. I read as many forums and articles on weight loss as I can. I love research so if I'm being intellectually challenged I'm more likely to keep an interest than if I wander off and start focussing on something else.

The other thing is that I accept weight loss is a long journey. And a healthy body is going to require lifelong work. With that in mind I understand and accept that my motivation is going to wax and wane repeatedly. So if I'm feeling less motivated than usual I just accept that as a natural part of the process and simply focus on maintaining weight for those periods if I don't have the energy to put into losing weight. I know that my motivation will return so I don't beat myself up over it.
