I've always told my mum to stop buying sausages cos I know they're the worst meat to eat. However it was only last night that I looked at the packet. For a 180 gram sausage there is 40 grams of fat in it! And I dont just eat one sausage, I'd eat about 4. So now i know, because i ate so many sausages every night thats how I put so much weight on. Because i dont really eat much other bad food.

I was shocked by how much fat is in one!

40 gms. is a hell of a lot of fat. Can you grill them?

add a sausage, some fried onion and some butter to a bread roll and you have a (bloody delicious) fat overload!

I don't know how popular this suggestion will be, but if you have a real hankering for sausages you could always try soy sausages instead. One serving of Sanitarium soy sausages (2 sausages) has 8.6g of fat (0.7g saturated) and 184 calories. To put it into perspective, two Coles brand pork sausages are 315 calories with 25.6g of fat (14g of those are saturated). Both the soy sausages and the pork sausages contain about the same amount of protein too, 20.5g and 20.7g respectively.
