HAYLEY'S TONY FERGUSON DIET PROGRESS

Postby Hayley » Sat Jul 01, 2006 6:46 pm

Hi all,

Just wanted to let you know that my husband and I are both starting the Tony ferguson weightloss plan on Monday. I know that some of you have decided to stop following this plan and I'm not even sure if there's anyone on this forum who follows it anymore, but I thought I'd track my progress on the plan and if anyone wants to join in too, feel free.

Hope all is going well with your chosen diet plans. I'll keep you informed on my progress and experience.

Hayley.

Hi everyone,

Well, I survived day 1 of the TF diet plan. I had a huge headache which started at about 8:30pm last night and I woke with it this morning but that's obviously my body fighting the caffiene cravings as I drank copious amounts of the stuff each day. I feel much better now though - I've had a large glass of water and my breakfast Espresso shake, which I love cos it makes me feel like I'm still getting to have my morning coffee.

My husband, after trying one of the shaes for breaky yesterday, has decided that he won't follow the TF plan, but instead will watch what he eats during the day, cut out fizzy drinks and eat what I cook for myself for dinner. He loses weight pretty easily, so I'm expecting good results from him.

We went shopping all day yesterday and I'm surpised how well I went. It got to lunch time and I was hungry - I wanted to get a big plate of hot chips with gravy or a hot roast beef roll, but instead, I bought a bottle of water, drank some of it and then added my strawberry & cream shake sachet to it, shook it up and drank that in the foodhall for my lunch. I was a bit embarrassed to do that in public, cos people were watching me tip the sachet in etc but then I thought 'stuff it!' I'm doing this for me and I don't care what anyone else thinks. I was so proud of myself and am so detrmined to make this work this time.

My starting weight yesterday was 93kg and my waist measurement was 105cm - I'll keep you all updated on my progress.

Good luck with your eating plans, whatever you may be on :D

Hayley, great going! you stuck to it even though you were alone doing it on the forum, you stuck to it when your husband dropped out, you stuck to it whilst at the food hall.
I am still motion sick from the bus trip down from dongara (it went inland) our car broke down just out of geraldon on sunday. So I still can't go on TF yet. I started to feel a bit better this morning and having two dinner guests tonight I thought I'd better walk to the shops to get some salad ingredients. I got one third the way to the shops and I got pins and needles in my face, I felt like I was going to throw up and the dizzy motion sickness came flooding back in full.
I'm seeing the doc tomorrow morning for my annual thyroid/diabetes/cholesterol blood test results. I'm sure something is a miss as there was a letter here telling me to make an appointment to get my results.

If all goes well health wise, I'll be joining you on Monday with the TF plan. Remember you will not be hungry once in Ketosis.

Doctor said my thyroid seems to be repairing itself and I can now lessen my medication to only 100mcg of thyroxine per day instead of 150mcg
My motion sickness is probably vertigo so he's treating that with 5mg of Stemetil 3 times per day.
He said my blood sugars were perfect.
My cholesterol is just a tad up so he's got me on a special diet.
Did an eye chart test and my eyes are repairing themselves too
Think my body healing must be due to the daily Italian salad (from woolworths) I love to eat.

So glad to hear that your body is healing itself, Dolly! :D

It's 1:16pm and I'm still going well. My hubby has gone out for a while and I haven't even felt like trying to sneak in some naughty food. I'm so determined to make this work - I want to feel happy about my body and am going to lose 25kg through the TF plan and exercise, so that I can try for another child next year. I made a promise to myself that I would be fit and healthy before falling pregnant again, because I know how hard it is for me to lose the weight that I put on during pregnancy.

Thanks Dolly :D

I went on the ninemsn tony ferguson chat room today and there was a post from someone who has been on the plan for 11 weeks and has lost 10.9kg and 20cm off her waist! How good is that!!! That will be me soon, yippeee!

So far so good - it's 4:10pm on day 3 of TF plan, no headaches as yet today and no cravings either :D :D

It's now 8:25am on day 4 of my first week on the TF plan and I feel really good. I have stuck to this program 100% for 3 days now. I didn't have any headaches at all yesterday, so I guess I'm past the caffiene withdrawals and carb withdrawals now - which surprised me cos I thought that it'd take much longer being a coffee addict!

Even though I'm really tempted, I've decided to weight myself every week, so we'll have to wait until Monday to find out if I've lost any weight yet.

I'll be back to let you know how my day went.

Oh Hayley, I sure wish I could join you on that diet now, because I'm feeling in the mood to. I have all the sachets here but the doc put me on a special cholesterol diet because my cholesterol was up just a tad. Having porridge with 2 spoons of oat bran and bread with Flora proactive marge wouldn't fit into Tony Fergusons plans.

I am so enjoying listening to how you feel each day.

Thanks Dolly - I'm enjoying sharing my daily experiences with you guys too!

Well, it's day 5 of my first week and I feel great. No headaches to report yesterday either, so I guess my body is fully adjusted. We went shopping again yesterday to buy some books for our little man and ended up being in the foodhall during luch time. Cam had a large sub from subway and Connor had his vegemite sandwich.... I had a sachet in my handbag just incase and I wasn't even hungry so I waited until 2 o'clock when we got home, to have my lunch sachet. The funny thing is that it wasn't even hard to sit and watch Cam eat the sub. Late in the afternoon, my brother-in-law came over with his icecream van to give Connor an icecream sunday, cos he'd been working the van in Ellenbrook which is round the corner form The Vines. Cameron had a sunday for himself too, a very large one, and I was offered one too. But, I said no and went inside (that took strength I tell you! :D ). Then at about 6:30pm, we went to Cam's folk's house in Bullsbrook to catch up with them for an hour or so and to find out how the deal with Denham is going. Cam's mum had been saving a packet of macadamia and white chocolate gourmet cookies for us and kept offering me some. I think she was a little offended because I wouldn't have any, but I stayed strong while Cam and Connor had one - they looked really good though and I must admit that I was extremely tempted....but I reminded myself that I'd done 4 days and if I had one small cookie, then I'd out my body out of ketosis mode and would have to start again, so I refrained. THEN, they bought out the packet of smarties they'd bought for Connor - he had one and decided he didn't want anymore, so she kept pushing for us to take them home with us. I said no, cos if it's in the fridge I might be tempted and she pushed and pushed but I won and the smarties are still out in Bullsbrook.

I'm really proud of myself for resisting all the times I could have really stuffed up this TF plan yesterday.

Today, Cam has gone into the city and will be picking me up some fresh tea (our good friends own the tiny coffee shop in Plaza Arcade in the city, which specialises in flavoured coffee beans and teas). On the plan, I can have 3 cups of normal tea per day and if I want anymore than that, the rest have to be decaff - 3 normal teas per day is sufficient but I don't really like tea bags, so can't wait to get the fresh tea home. The only thing I'm a little worried about is that I'm at home without Cameron to keep an eye on me and I realy hope that I'm strong enough today to stick to this plan and not feel tempted by mum's left-over lasagne in the fridge or the Venetian cookies (my favourite) in the pantry, or the coffee and especially the peanut paste on toast.

So, if you guys don't mind, I'll probably be back quite a few times today, just to keep me busy and my mind off the naughty foods.

I hope you're finding the diet your doc gave you alright and I hope it works to bring your colesterol down a bit.

Thanks again for your wonderful support :D :D

Day 6, week 1 - still following it 100% and feeling more energised today. This is so much easier to follow this time round, cos I'm in the right frame of mind. I'm still refraining from weighing myself until Monday, so can't wait to see if there's been any loss during my first week.

My favourite dinner meal so far that I've cooked is chicken tenderloins marinaded in garlic, small amount of lemon juice and wholegrain mustard. Cooked the chicken and pieces and served on huge salad of allowed vegetables with balsamic vinegar dressing - yummy. Still experimentiong with different meal ideas so that I have variety and don't get bored.

Having a minimum of 2 litres water is now much easier to drink each day and I feel that my bladder is slowly getting used to it. I've already had just over a litre this morning.

Feeling really good about this. Best wishes with your chosen weightloss plan :D
