best exercise dvds?

Postby chasemymind » Tue Jun 23, 2009 1:05 am

Okay guys. Its winter. And im still running in the rain but im GOING to get SICK sooner or later. So I was wondering, what are the best exercise dvds? Highest burning fat or calorie ones.

I'm... not into the dancey s'mancy ones. Biggest loser ones are alright i hear :D But personal experience  is something i trust more. So give me some!

Hi chasemymind,

I don't know if you have ever looked in to the 'wii-fit' system but I have it at home and it's a fantastic way to work out if you don't like going to the gym or outside.

They have all sorts of programs and you can measure your BMI, etc...

Hey! Jillian Micheals has a series of dvd workouts that are great, they work you extremely!!! hard for 20 minutes or so. The problem is that I stopped doing them because I started dreading doing it because it hurt and it was really hard (and that was when I was running 5km 4 times a week) hahaha.

I hate the dancing ones too because I am really uncoordinated!

I also have Denise Austin fat blasting yoga, she is abit weird so I play it without the sound but its really great. I definitely notice more muscle tone and weightloss when I do it every day. Most of the exercises arent overly hard and they dont hurt when you do them but you will feel it in your muscles the next day which is good :D

I know JB hifi has a pretty good workout dvd section so just wait till they have a sale and you can pick most of them up for 10$ or so. I think its really a matter of finding something that suits you. Hope that helps :D

Most of mine are dancing ones, so I'm useless in this thread! I'm not sure about how much martial arts would tax someone's coordination, but I really like the Billy Blanks Tae Bo DVDs. My only problem is that they won't work in my damn DVD player. :(

Hi my favourite is an oldie but goodie its called kick its australian and it has 2 dvds in it really gets the heart rate going its a boxing kicking one. I do have taebo but personally they just dont work me hard enough.
I also have winsor pilates which i LOVE I really see results in my legs and core(tummy) from them plus there only 25 minutes long, but you do need to add cardio to burn the fat but boy you lose inches around the waist.

Hope that helps ....I love seeing what other people have found RESULTS with too.

maybe if you want to mix it up and go for some flexibility and core strength you should try "Pilates for Dummies" i was amazed how flexible and strong i got in only two weeks and i was only using it every second day!

good luck with finding a good cardio dvd. i find it to be a bit of trial and error sometimes

I must say that I'm also having a hard time picking out the best cardio work-out dvd... it's always a miss for me. No difference with playing Wii-fit. boohooo... what do you guys suggest aside form Pilates?

I love MTV Power Yoga and Pilates! They rock, and the background music is energizing and invigorating. You should try doing Yoga, it is very good for weight loss.
