Sticky date pudding crisis averted

Postby Puffer » Sat Aug 26, 2006 11:09 pm

I had some friends around for dinner tonight... we got takeout (Indian food) which I don't think would have done too much damage because I still had 3500kj left for the day. Then they insisted on sticky date pudding and ice cream and despite being asked about fifty bloody times I didn't eat any, not even a mouthful

There was even a bit left on the table in a bowl, I put glad wrap over it and put it in the fridge for the boyfriend.

I feel a bit shakey like I have just had a near miss with a car accident! This is the first time in as long as I can remember I have said no to something like sticky date

Woohoo! Chrissie you're a star!
Sticky date pudding with icecream is my ultimate weakness, I'm so proud of you (with friends tempting you like that who needs enemies  )
I would've flung my serving towards the dog whilst the friends were still watching so they'd know I meant business (plus to remove the temptation).
Congratulation, you go girl!

You know, there is a diet sticky date pudding in the supermarkets. I've had it a few times. I can't remember who makes it, but it's the one with the yellow label. They also do a creme caramel.

Wow, is it one you have to cook up or is it pre made??
Although I'm not sure I should tempt myself to eat it as I might not be able to stop at one.

congrats Puffer, it is always hard to say no to something the first time, but each time we say it our resolve gets stronger and the easier it becomes!! 8)

I have posted a Sticky Date Pudding recipe for you (a low fat one)should you want to still "have your cake and lose weight too!!" If you find it to be too high in the sugar department, just cut the brown sugar down by 1/2 again.

Happy slimming mate and again a big well down for standing up for yourself!! Friends can be a bit of a challenge sometimes, but you stick to your guns.
