Low Carb Diets - Do they work?

Hey all, I have been listening to a lot of people talk about Low carb diets, and whether they work or not, so I did a bit of research and found an article in the Sydney Morning Herald from January this year, that helped me understand. Hope it helps you too! So I'm sticking with my "Low carb, high protein grazing!"

research suggests that those on low to moderate carb plans will lose more in the early stages than those following a calorie contoled diet by the end of 12 months more on the low/mod carb had either left the programs or had lost the same amount as the calorie controlled. I can personally say ive been there done that to the whole carb thing, yes i lost early on but your body comes to a plateu and then the frustrations begin. Best of luck with whatever you choose.

try checking out the forums at lowcarbfriends.com - it works for many people but you will also see lots and lots of people restarting over and over and over... I tried it and lost weight intially but ultimately found it too restrictive to be a realistic lifestyle... actually that s something that all the successful people will emphasise - it is not a diet but a PERMENANT way of life. Not for me!
I never thought I would witness the destruction of a Universe whilst carrying a naked merchant banker...

I agree a diet has to be achievable over the long term, it needs to be done for life! Which I have found that it can be. I am using the Censored System and it is designed to be a LIFETIME program. You eat 6 meals a day, reduce the carbs, eating protein in all meals and 1 day a week, you can have a high calorie day to trick your metabolism, so that it doesn't become complacent. It has worked for many people, and makes sense, you don't feel restricted and you are never hungry!

So each to ones own I guess, but I'm sticking with this.

Hi there i'm new to this forum i just have some simple questions in regards to the Censored program. I'm about to start in about a week and am afraid that when i stop i will not only put on weight i lost but gain extra, is this true? :?

if you go back to eating the junk you were before you started then short answer yes you will- its about maintaining for life
