Shakes- soy based

Postby chocoholic » Sat Sep 05, 2009 8:40 pm

Hi :)
I am wanting to start having shakes. I am a bit lactose intolerant, so I was really excited to learn that Tony Ferguson has 2 shakes that are soy based (chocolate and espresso, for those interested). So I went there today and they said I had to join to be able to buy the shakes :( Its only about $25 all up to join, but I just want the shakes. So after I explained that to the girl at the counter she let me buy two of them (one of each flavour) to try and see if I like them.
Does anybody know if there are other weight loss companies that have soy based shakes? Any help would be much appreciated!

There are soy based protein shakes you can get at supermarkets, but they're not proper meal-replacement shakes, and they're a bit gritty. The Cambridge Diet shakes are dairy free, but you have to contact a local 'counsellor' to sign up. You can find their contact details by googling them and searching pages from Australia, if you google worldwide you'll get a lot of UK hits. According to this ACA article the Cambridge Diet costs about $100 per week for the full program, and that was two years ago, on the plus-side they have a transition period where you phase to a healthy diet to help you keep the weight off.

It's great to hear that two of the Tony Ferguson shakes are soy based. I found it really hard as a vegan trying to find meal replacements that weren't full of dairy.

My naturopath has me on soy-based protein shakes because i dont get enough protein (i think im supposed to eat around 60grams, and i'll struggle to eat 20 :( ). I think its called Ketoslim, i think its derived from a type of pea or something. Tastes nice too, hardly any carbs or fat, high in protein :D

Thats great, thanks for that. I'll see how TF goes first, seeing as I have bought a weeks worth of shakes already.

Guys
I am bringing a SOY protein (not dairy based like the others) meal replacement shake into Australia hopefully in the next few months,
I'm very proud of this one -
its one of the lowest in Calories I have come across in my professional life -
No animal compounds
No dairy
Gluten free
Nothing artificial! No artificial sweetener!
Soy protein isolate
Low fat (2g)
Lower carbohydrate than any other similar product I have seen on the market
Vitamins/minerals
contains amazing disease preventing anti oxidants like Resveritrol (the secret antioxdant ingredient in red wine)
Kosher (OU)

Stay posted,
keep in touch if you want to know when it arrives, just bug me every few weeks please..
