A 'Wee' Question

Postby kate_turner2000 » Sat Sep 09, 2006 9:40 pm

Hi guys and gals :)

just wanted to ask a question and hope this isnt too much info for you! have noticed lately that during many of my frequent toilet trips that sometimes my urine is pretty dark and then other times (like the next time i go) it is almost clear. i was wondering if the yellowness has something to do with the water flushing all the toxins out? i dont have a UTI as i have no symptoms. any ideas or if anyone can relate id like to know!! feeling like a bit of a freak haha

Love the heading teehee!
My naturopath told me that when the urine is a bright colour it means that you have been eating lots of vitamins or nutritious food. He said because the gallbladder and kidney filters are a bit blocked up the urine will become bright because most of the vitamins are getting flushed out of the system. He said once the body heals itself and absorbs the nutriends the urine will become paler and you won't be flushing the vitamins away.

darker urine means it is more concentrated.. so yeah, you might be flushing toxins and stuff but basically it means you are dehydrated and you should be drinking more water!

If you drink enough water, your urine should be yellowy-clear!

That's interesting Dolly. Like Mandie, I had been told that it meant that you were dehydrated if your wee was brightly coloured? I thought it was basically the more liquids you drink, the more diluted your urine is, therefor clear urine? hmmm... lol

Hi Kate

I notice my first few for the day are a bit dark as I haven't been drinking water through the night. Then they get clearer after that till almost the same colour as water.

yep Kate I am with Kim on this one. My doctor told me that it is better to have the pale pee and this means you are hydrating your body enough.

I started taking a multivitamin a while ago and that made my urine darker than usual... but that was each time I went to the loo, not randomly like yours...
