I'm with Court.

Also, it's a bit scary that when you are eating, you are not eating wholesome, healthy food.

Personally (and it's none of my business) I would be rethinking Duromine and looking at eating a balanced, calorie controlled diet....Especially as when you stop taking the Duromine, any weight you have lost will come straight back on!

Whatever you decide, good luck, and take care!

Are you under medical supervision while using Duromine? I would strongly recommend talking to your doctor about the side-effects you are suffering to find out whether they are normal or not. Not everyone reacts to drugs in the same way and for risky medication it's worth keeping your doctor informed of any problems you are having.

Is there any reason that your doctor thought Duromine was the best option for you for weight loss? Have you shown him or her a food diary of what you are eating while on this medication?

I'm probably a little less concerned than others here - health care professionals have traditionally prescribed Very Low Calorie Diets for morbidly (or super) obese people so they can lose weight initially very quickly. Losing weight quickly and VLC diets have risks associated with them, but in some instances those risks are less than the risks associated with morbid obesity. Provided they're done under close medical supervision AND the doctor phases the patient onto a healthy regular diet over time then they can be effective. My major concern is when people self-medicate (BIG, BIG danger) or when they have a dodgy doctor who is more interested in prescribing pills rather than monitoring the patient.

Unfortunately there have been instances in the past on this board where people have self-medicated with diet pills, or have tried to get diet pills when they are not in the appropriate category to need them (ie. they only have a few kilos to lose). This alarms many people here so some of us are very cautious when people post about their experiences on Duromine or other weight loss schemes that rely on Very Low Calorie diets.

Duromine works for some, not for others. Commonly, the weight you lose is put back on as soon as you cease the medication. Personally, I'm quite concerned with your diet..... pizza, cheeseburgers, caesar salads.... all high in saturated fat. You might want to consider altering your diet to fresh fruit/vegies and lean meat, especially whilst on this medication so it can assist you in developing better sustainable eating habits.
