A Problem With My Scales!

Postby BlueRaven » Wed Sep 22, 2010 10:18 pm

I brought my $29 digital scales today from KMart and I get home and weigh myself on a flat surface and they are very iffy scales! First time they said 84.4kg then they said 82.3kg then 84.3kg and then 82.3kg again arghhhhh I need correct scales for my starting weight for Monday's challenge so I will be taking them back tomorrow or the next day and I won't be getting digital ones this time I think.

Does anyone else get issues like this with scales?

What type of scales do you prefer?

I think all digital scales are the same. Mine were $150+ and they can vary 400gms or so every time I stand on them. Make sure the surface is level and solid (carpet makes you lighter  ) and I generally will take the average of three weights as the proper one - or the lightest depending on my mood

I weighed 69kg on carpet, I wish!, so carpet is a definite no no

hi dragonfly,
your scales sound really bad! I brought some new ones today a bit like the ones in Carley's picture, they were cheapo $26 from Big W but the number incremenrs are pretty small I don't think I'll be able to tell much difference between each 2kgs which is sort of disappointing because I see a lot of posts of people losing points of kilograms. I'm impressed with your weightloss having 5 kids to look after! What method are you using to lose weight? I'm on the celebrity slim diet and do 30 mins on the exercise bike a day.
