:) Hi my name is Carly and I am starting my weight loss journy.
Hoping this will be like an on line journal for me to put info into and help me stay aware of my habits :)
Feel free to comment, offer advice or chat to me.

IO have always been heavy and felt uncomfortable with my body structure.
I am 174cm tall and 69kg. I would like to be 58cms. I am very unhappy with my body at the moment.
I have been getting better over time and need to be positive and take one step at a time.

Breakfast today was: Date flavoured OATS with water.
White coffee with one sugar.
Snack: Rhubarb flavoured Yogurt.
Lunch Time: Celery Sticks with Hommus.
Snack: eight strawberries.
Dinner Time: wholemeal roll with chicken and lettuce and avacado.


I would really like to continue eating healthy, i feel as though i comfort eat esp when stressed with my full time job.
I normally eat raisen toast and eat icecream, choclate, cheesecake daily and hardly use my gym membership :(
Maybe you can help me stay strong and do this for myself xx

Good luck with your weight loss journey, will be looking forward to hearing about how your going.
What your eating sounds good but is it enough? celery is not much for lunch, maybe add a few other veggies to it to bulk it up a bit.

yes i ended up adding some carrot and snow peas. Quite a lod of pieces of vege.
I also had a half a handful of almonds
I really have bad craving for icecream and chocolate, almost went to the shop to buy some but i know when i buy it
i devour the whole lot and this is my first day! i dont want to jeopardise it.
I guess i just have to do something to occupy my mind like housework (cos im on my day off work).

DAY 2. Weight is 67.7kg.

Today i got up at 630am and got ready for work. :D

Breakfast: Black coffee with two sugar.
35g Oats (flavoured) with water.
Lunch time: Celery sticks with a bit of peanut butter.
Snack: 2 peices of fruit, apple and orange.
Dinner Time: 2 sushi rolls, salmon and avacado.

wish me well for today. Hope i can stick to this x

It really does not look like your eating enough, is this normal for you or are you trying to limit your intake? If your not eating enough it will slow your metabolism down and you will struggle to lose weight.
But good on you for being commited!

Thank you for your post :) i guess this is where i am having most trouble,
you see i am usually a big eater and usually have three big meals of a day which is four pieces
of raisen toast for breakfast, an apple as a snack, a wholemeal sandwich with chicken or tuna with salad, then for dinner pasta or
steak with veg and desert like chocolate cake or two magnum icecreams.
this is why i am confused with how to portion my meals?
can you ive some advice with what i could do and an example of how much i should be eating enerally to lose a bit
of weight? I also walk alot everyday and im thinking of startin gym tomorrow. x

I jumped on the scales first thing in the morning
as it is the best time to check weight, and it said 66kgs ?!?
I think i need a new set of scales as my weight said 69kgs on my other set of scales and my work scales say 69
with work clothes on and shoes.
Confusing! Tomorrow i have an apppointment with a Feel Good Womens fitness. They will weigh me and measure
me and talk about my goals and I will be apart of their gym.
Im nervous but perhaps their scales will be better than mine!!!

I really want to be 58kgs and fit into my bardot jeans and nice black dress.
And when i go on holiday in summer i want to look nice in a bikini!

Different sets of scales will weight differently - they aren't calibrated to each other. Use the same set of scales each time you weigh otherwise it's meaningless.

As for how much you were eating, mostly it looked like an ok amount, maybe cut back to two slices of raisin toast, or have muesli instead. Don't know how big the sandwich was, or what precisely was in it. Watch out for hidden cals in sauces and spreads. Possibly switch to a wrap to cut down on the carbs and still fill up on plenty of vegetable and protein. Maybe look into some more vege heavy dinners instead of the pasta and get rid of the dessert (that's your main problem if you're having that regularly). Then throw in some exercise and bob's your uncle.
35kg lost. (November 2005 - October 2006)
15kg gained again (as at October 2010).

:) Yes i realize the sugar in the fruit in raisen toast and the high carbohydrate
content ment i was already going over my carbohydrate limit before lunch even started.
I have now substituted my toast for Oats - 35g sachets so i dont over do the amount.
And i enjoy oats better without milk.
I also cut down with coffee, i have one a day and only in the morning.
And my biggest temptation is eating after dinner.

i love chocolate and cake and as i work in a bakery making sweets,
i tend to try it and take some home with me!! BAD BAD IDEA! Now i have stopped allowing myself this.
I am going to stick this out and be strong. I dont want to give in to this quick and easy habit and find myself
obese down the track suffering from heart disease or diabetes.

I want to be healthy for the future and show my children how to
be healthy. I am a big eater and always have been, so this is hard for me to know how to cut down.
Im also an emotional eater - if im stressed or even happy i say "lets go have dinner!" and chose fatty foods that
i think or deliscious but they are high in fat and sugar. I need to reward myself with a warm bath or yoga or something
thats good for me!!!!

what do you find hardest about weight loss?

Today i spoke to a weight loss consultant who weighed me in as 65.7kgs.
Wow my scales were wrong. Now my goal is to lose 7.7kgs. I am looking forward
to following the meal plan she gives me in two weeks. I want to be slim for summer
and believe this is my time!! woo very happy.
:) I was feeling quite bad as im craving so many foods just knowing i need to get healthy,
must be strong and remember the carbs (donuts, cakes and icecream) and sugar are bad for me.
I can have one treat a week. x

:) Feel very Happy today.
Today I had :
Breakfast: Date flavoured Oats with water.
(Met with Sister Laura at 1pm at Banjos and enjoyed a naughty indulgence!)
Lunch time: 2 Nectarines.
Mocha with light milk.
2 Date scones, (Plain with no butter).
Snack: Organic Orange Juice. Piece of PawPaw.
Dinner Time: Sushi with Steak Pieces. Cup of Tea with one sugar.

Went for a long walk today and tried to choose food wisely.

Yay today i feel so happy, I realize when i eat low GI food I am staying full yet losing
weight at the same time. I try not to eat after 8pm.
Today i weighed myself as 64.3kg, however i do have my *time of month* so not sure how that
changes things.

For breaky i am having a brown roll with banana.
Mocha with soy milk.
Lunch time I am having: Two pieces of Fruit
(half mango and nectarine.)
snack in afternoon: half handful of fruit and nuts.
Dinner time i having: 2 sushi rolls with salmon and chicken.

Definatly only use the same set of scales when you weight in, there can be a 2kg difference in some! I also weigh in the same time each time- first think in the morning with no clothes on! (with the curtains closed lol)
Sounds like your doing better with your eating :)
