Have any of you experienced constipation while trying to lose weight? I did yesterday and it was terrible. All of my usual tricks didn't work- I had 3 black coffees with artificial sweetener, 3 apples, 500g of steamed vegies- and still nothing! I googled how to get rid of constipation fast and read that prunes and licorice might help (of course there wasn't A SINGLE PRUNE in the fridge when there usually is). So I walked to coles and bought some prunes and licorice.
Another thing I bought was some diet fizzy drink. Now I'm not sure why this works for me- drinking half to a whole bottle of diet fizzy drink (not cola) usually almost always works! So I got out of coles and it was pouring with rain, nowhere to sit down and drink the diet drink (and no way was I lugging it home in the rain).
I got to the toilets, hung up my bags and took out the fizzy drink, opened it...and it sprayed everywhere in the cubicle! haha. That didn't stop me, and I proceeded to drink half the bottle. And finally, finally- I had 'movement at the station'. Gosh it was a relief!
I hadn't even eaten any of the prunes or licorice. Now I know this is a bit of too much information, however I am sharing this in the hopes that it might help someone else who is experiencing alot of discomfort from constipation.
