Bloating

Postby aena » Sat Apr 30, 2011 11:23 pm

OK, so what exactly is it? I am having days when if I eat a little more I feel like my tummy is getting bigger. I don't know what it is but it feels terrible. Googling is not always fun so I thought' I 'd put it up here..Anybody care to share, please!!!

Thanks,

There are many many causes of bloating.
At different times of the month you will naturally blow up a little.
Usually the most common cause is water retention. If you're body is not getting enough it will hold onto all it has, causing you to feel bloated. Drink. Drink. Drink.
Try to drink about 2L a day, start off slow 500ml at first them work upwards. Soon enough you will feel fresh, energeetic and hydrated. And not bloated!

Hmmm, I do drink plenty of water. It looks big in the evening while in the morning it would get back to the normal state.

well do you just "look" bloated or do you "feel" bloated?

IBS would DEFINITELY be related. Bloating is one of the symptoms.

I probably have IBS too (though not diagnosed), I will go from bloated to constipated then all the way around to diarrhea  I try to control it with a reasonable diet, but sometimes it will happen out of nowhere. There's probably some formula about what combinations of foods I should avoid rather than one particular food, but to be honest i can't be bothered working it all out, so I just manage it as best I can. I know, lazy, but hey, there's only so much a girl can do!
35kg lost. (November 2005 - October 2006)
15kg gained again (as at October 2010).
