Well, I'm a full time college student (majoring in public relations with a triple minor in recreation, journalism, and public affairs), with two part time jobs. I work as a student manager when I'm at school in one of the dining commons on campus. And when I'm at home I work as a sales associate at a jewelry store in my local mall.

Eventually I'd like to get a job in the travel/tourism industry, as I love to travel!!

Well you are all such busy people!!! I feel a bit ashamed that I'm not so busy! I am not working at present. Just quit a month ago because I wasn't being paid and new I wouldnt cos they didnt have any money! It was a small electrical contractor business. Why they didnt have any money in times like these I have no idea. Tradies are making a fortune at the moment. I was an office administrator. I quite liked the work but couldn't stand them fighting and carrying on all the time and when I realised they were going more and more into debt and not going to have money to pay their suppliers I thought right I am out of here! Prior to that I was a real estate sales rep for 5 years. Which I loved but realised in late 2004 I had taken on too much to chew. The kids wanted to trade me in for a new mum cos I wasnt here very often, I was owner building our new housse, and my biological father had just passed away and left me a huge mess to sort out with his estate......o what joy that was!!! That was a full time job for over 6 months on its own. Shame I didn't get paid an hourly rate for that one! So I had a break between real estate and the office admin job. The kids love having me at home. They are 11 and 9. Plus I am able to help out my sister and look after her kids in the holidays etc. But I have my ears open for anything that may be suitable that comes up. I'm not anti working but I won't work for crap money or conditions. We survive just fine and can still afford holidays etc on my partners wage, so I figure I shouldnt take the work that someone else could have that really does need the money. Plus I can do things for my family, such as painting my mother in laws house. Which I better get off my butt and get moving to start cos I think it is going to rain tomorrow....bugger!!!

My goodness those stories are terrible.
I swear on anything that I can lay hands to - here we go a good empty beer bottle - I swear on this empty beer bottle that I will NEVER take s***t like that lying down. I will DEMAND to have things done properly and will demand respect - the same way I demand respect from anyone that gets to look at my privates. In return I have always been good natured, forgiving and co-operative (I'd hate to be a nurse/doctor in public hospitals, they get such a crap run but most of them are so fantastic).

Mind you i have always been that way - right down to gurgling at my dentist "what are those fillings made out of? are they safe?" (he wasn't much pleased, but gave me the full list of ingredients, none of which I recognised, but then I let him do it)

Anyway, on to what i do. I finished my honours in psychology last year and have been working for a year in Child and Family Services (Dept of Health and Human Services) for this year. This is a very eye-opening experience - I am now filled with an adequate level of cynicism and an understanding of how bad things can really get. Hopefully nexct year I will be back at Uni doing my doctorate.
35kg lost. (November 2005 - October 2006)
15kg gained again (as at October 2010).
Back to the drawing board - Let's do this thing!

hey :)

I've just finished (and hopefully passed, results out next week) my 5th year of medicine and this time next year I shall FINISH and be a DOCTOR! Crazy...

I do some volunteer work (counselling on a telephone line) about once a month and I work parttime (medical typist) about 6-8 hours a week.

That's about all!

No babies yet - I'm sorry for the terrible experiences some of you have had.. it should NEVER happen.. during my obstetrics term at King Edward (in Perth) I saw some horrible midwives as well, I did complain about one formally so hopefully she got reprimanded...

It's such a vulnerable time, in labour and giving birth, and particularly just afterwards. And if it is your first, you often have no idea what you are doing and you put so much trust in the people looking after you - its horrible when you get mistreated! .. It makes me really mad!

Hay Mandie - wow a Doctor - congrats to you! My 10 yearl old wants to be a Doctor (I want her to do a specialist one like Plastic's so I can get a nip and tuck when I want it - HAHAH). I was one who had a horrible experience at KEMH - so much so that I vowed to never have a child there again - and I didn't!! I went to SGOG in Subi - much better there! :D
2008 - my year to be great!!
