How long will it take to see a difference in my appearance?

Postby mctoasted1 » Sat Dec 24, 2011 11:51 pm

How long will it take to see difference in my appearance burning 1600-2000 calories a week playing squash twice a week?

Say i'm consuming 800calories a day & i'm 14 years old? I'm fairly chubby, not fat, and i want to rid my chubby cheeks and lose my stubborn stomach and chest fat? Yes, i know 800 calories is a little too less, but i'm on a strict diet, and still consuming all the essential nutrients. How long will it take to see difference in my appearance burning 1600-2000 calories a week playing squash 2 times a week?

Thank you :)

If you arent eating enough calories, your body will go into starvation mode and will hold onto any food you put into it because its not sure when it will get fed again. You are better off just trying to eat healthy 95% of the time and getting in some excercise, you are only young as well, your body will thin out in its own time as well.

Good luck with your endeavours, but please make sure you eat enough!

You are starving yourself. How long do you think you can go on like this before you become seriously ill?

800 calories a day is not enough food for a growing teenager.

In my opinion, I think it really depends. In some the results are fast and you can easily see it in their physical appearance, but some have slow progress. Each of us have different reactions to our diet plans. Even though we are in the same program, the development will still vary. But in your case, you need to have more calories. You're young and your body needs the right amount of food (cals, carbs, proteins). Just be sure you know how to burn them in a healthy way after! :D

As others have said, you are not eating enough.

Leaving aside the health risks, eating too little IS WORSE for weightloss than eating that bit extra. After a period of eating too little, your body goes in to starvation mode, and although you are eating so little you wont lose weight. Your body thinks that you are in a famine and its trying to save your life, so it will hold on to every bit it can. Then when you eat more again, you'll stack back on the weight quickly.

The best thing for fast weightloss is good healthy food (no junk or sugary stuff) and exercise. You will be thinner doing that in a few months time then you would be eating 800 calories a day. Not to mention a LOT happier. :) ok?

In regards to how fast you can tell the difference, pretty quick really. One or 2 kilos probably doesnt sound like much to you, but you go lift 2 kgs of anything and its a decent amount of weight :) It depends on your starting weight as well - if you are quite overweight a few kgs might not be as significant on your frame as if you were quite slim already. On the other hand, the most healthy your current weight, generally the longer it takes to lose that 2kgs.

If you are concerned about school and bullying, is there someone you can speak to about it specifically? Remember, NEARLY EVERYONE gets bullied at school, not matter what they weigh, and finding ways to conteract on it is an essential part of growing up no matter what you weigh as a teenager.
