Hi - any other clean eaters out there!

Postby THE40BY40PROJECT » Fri Feb 10, 2012 2:02 pm

I'll just say a very quick hello as I have to get back to work! I'm 39, a full time working Mum. I will be 40 in October and have set myself a goal to lose 40kg by then as I REFUSE to lug my excess weight into my 40's. I started on Boxing Day (so I could avoid the New Years Resolution) and have lost 7.5kg since then. 32.5kg to go!

I'm following Tosca Reno's eat clean diet and love it so much. Its not really a diet. Anyone else ???

For the record over the last 20 years I have tried and failed the following
- Weight Watchers (at least 4 times)
- Jenny Craig
- Gloria Marshall
- Sureslim
- Optifast
- Gastric Banding (slipped after 10 weeks and nearly killed me)
- Calorie King
- etc etc etc

I have NEVER felt so good about a 'diet' and this morning I RAN on my treadmill for the first time.

Hoping to hear from some other clean eaters.

Cheers
Paula

I'm not sure I really understood it, lol.

You eat 6 meals/day - 3 hours apart? and cut out all sugars??

Hi Vicki,

In a nutshell (as I understand it, I'm a beginer as well :D )

- eat 5 or 6 small meals a day
- drink LOTS OF water 2-3 litres
- eat everything as close to its natural state as possible (avoid anti-food)
- meals need to consist of lean protein and complex carbs
- avoid sugar and all foods containing sugar

I have added lots of superfoods to my diet and cut out all the junk. I have given up coke zero and most sugar (I still have fruit, a small amount of honey, agave etc).

Everything I eat now is a power pack of nutritan, hence why I started to feel better, more energetic etc IMMEDIATELY (within a day). The wonderful thing about clean eating is you start to feel better straight away, and you lose weight straight away. My eyes and skin are clearer, my hair is shinny and I look so much better than I did 6 weeks ago.

The best way to lose weight that I have ever come across :)

Did you get a book or are you just going by the online info?

It does sound interesting.

Hi again Vicki :)

You could do it from the on-line info. I bought the "Just the Rules" book (on my kindle so less than $10) . Its worth getting, sets out all the basic stuff. I have since bought The Eat Clean Diet Recharged and one of the cookbooks but that's because I like to read everything!

Happy to answer any questions (I'm no expert). It would be nice to have other to chat to about clean eating, I haven't had any luck finding any Australian discussion boards on this subject

Cheers :)
