Helpful advice

Postby Teenage struggle » Sun Feb 19, 2012 3:29 pm

So I want to go back to basics, I'm sick of focusing on weightloss and trying to do things I can't maintain. Instead I want to learn how to live a healthy lifestyle. I'm 17 years old any advice no
Matter how obvious it may be will be great, especially in relation to portion sizes, how often I should eat a day and amounts of physical activity :)

I think one of the nest ways to start with portion sizes is to buy a kiddies divided plate... you know those melamine ones?

Portion sizes should be 1/2 plate veg, 1/4 carbs and 1/4 protein, those plates are divided into 1 half and 2 quarters so make it easy..???

I would think anywhere like Big W or K Mart or even sometimes you see them at homewares stores or chemist or even discount shops?

Instead of eating less of some food or avoiding certain foods, try focus on eating more of foods that are good foor you.

There are some foods that are great to eat no matter what diet guru you would ask.

Here are some:

Cucumber
Tomato
Avocado
Broccoli
Spinach
almonds
Cabbage
Mango
seeds

list goes on...These foods are vitamin rich, low in carbs, low in acidity. Focus on these kind of foods and you will see how your energy levels will skyrocket!
