New Research For BMI

Postby CronicBadger » Wed Apr 04, 2012 7:19 pm

Poor Body Mass Index (BMI) takes yet another beating, with a study that shows further evidence that it's not all it's cracked up to be.

Basically, scientists suspect that it's inaccurate for 50% of subjects and that many people are actually obese even if they are in a safe BMI range!

Here's a link to the ABC news article:

OBESE in a safe range??

Can you imagine that example they give?
a 5'5" (165.1cm)woman weighs 125 lbs (57K) BMI 20.8 Just inside the lower parameter.
They say she will have flab.
Where on earth is she going to hide FLAB in that ht weight ratio??

Actually it's funny as I expected the article to be going to opposite way :)
