Hehe got it here... http://www.weightloss.com.au/forum/viewtopic.php?t=3161

I think the best way to cure a cashew problem is to eat as many as you possibly can, then eat some more, until they start to come up again. Once you've tasted them on the way up, they will never taste as good on the way down! (personal experience talking here  )

Hahha that thread is a crackup ;P
I do love cashews.. I always thought I hated them, but after chewing my way through at least 1/2 a bag on Christmas Eve last year, I guess I do like them after all :S :S

Thanks Sarah for tracking that down. LOL yeah it is funny. The chokito thread is even funnier. Can't remember where that is or how it got started. Any ideas Kate? I thought it was Debbie that started it but I have been unable to find it.

Right here we go. This is just so everyone will understand what we mean when referring to 'chokitos' and the above thread posted by Sarah is the cashew referrence....there was a connection at one point I think. LOL

It's about 1/2 way down this page and onto the next one.

Errmm...enjoy.

Hi Lynda nothing is actually "wrong" with cashew nuts (unless you are Kate, then cashews are a problem :P ) \

When you are losing weight it is recommended that you don't have more than one serve of nuts, not due to them being unhealthy, but because of the fat content.....nothing too drastic. Nuts are full of protein and the good fats!! Just don't eat too many when you are trying to shed the kilos!!

MMMMMMMMMMM cashews.......said like homer when he is drooling over beer and donuts!!!! Your menu plan looks fine to me Lynda. But maybe eat half of what they recommend at a meal if you arent feeling hungry. Dont skip the meal because you may find in an hours time you are hungry and might want to eat something naughty.

Nothings wrong with them but they are so addictive its hard to stop at just a few. They are actually very good for you but all nuts are high in fat (even though its the good fat) so if you are trying to lose weight then you have to really watch your intake. Also, make sure they arent roasted in oil or salted.

Are we needing to start a cashew nut support group thread?

I've actually started buying them raw - for a couple of reasons...
1. I saw on the Oprah show (and we all know that Oprah knows everything :P ) that if you cook nuts then it does some kind of damage to the good fats and makes them a bit bad or something.... didn't really undertand it, but switched to raw anyway. LOL
2. If you eat them raw, it is actually marginally easier to stop after about 10 - 15. Haven't got to 6 or 7 yet, but hey stopping before I've completely made myself ill is still a new achievement, so let's celebrate the small stuff!
