Oh you girls crack me up!!!
I nearly wet my pants reading this thread!!!! Damn pelvic floor!!!
Dee, you are hillarious! I loved the story on the 'skinny hypnotherapist'....Thanks for the late night entertainment! :P  :P

My dad sent my sister to a shrink once becuase he caught her smoking. He thought she was watching too much tv!!!!, and that the TV watching was making her smoke!!!

some of these so called professionals have spent too much time with thier noses in books and not enough time in the real world!!!

Hi Dee, I certainly think if you choose to stay with the hypnotherapy...do a bit of homework and make sure (as Kim said too) that he or she has some sort of degree in nutrition...don't let one bad apple spoil the experience for you!! Let us know how you go!

There is one in Melbourne that I went to and she really is pretty darn good. She is also a personal trainer.

My only concern with her was that she delved in a little too far in the first session and dredged up a lot of old stuff that have caused me to jain weight and then I went straight to Maccas on the way home. I did go back for a second session, but I think I was just a bit sceptical and wasn't open to the process.

I now several people that have done wonderful with her though and now she's so booked up I can't get back in to see her until the middle of the year.

She is working out of Reservoir now, before she was working from Plenty.

Her company is called "Fit Spirit" Australia.

Her name is Natalie ATKINSON and she's a clinical Hypnotherapist and Fitness Trainer. (DIP.C.H, M.A.H.A) Not sure what they stand for but they are after her name.

Here's her contact details: email: [email protected]

not sure if I should post her mobile number on here, if you want it PM me, but you should be able to catch her via email.

I've actually had a considerable amount of success with the snacking since I saw this guy... Could it be that the weirdo actually helped?

I have stuck to 3 meals and one midafternoon snack so far, and I'm feeling great about it. That's not to say it's suddenly become easy for me, but it has become do-able.

LOL - I'll just die of this guy is actually good at his job, when I've been on posting about what a nuffie he is!

Cheers,

Oh Good Luck!

Let us know what happens, it will be interesting to compare.

I've actually had a friend talk to a dietician friend of hers about some of the advice I was given, and she is unimpressed. She said that you need to make sure when you are hypnotised the advice being planted into your subconscious is sound, otherwise if you don't follow it, you end up telling yourself you've sabotaged yourself, then you don't follow any of the advice. Some good advice to have going in, because if you don't agree with what you're being told you need to say so before they hypnotise you.

Hi Dee,

Firstly, sorry if I have hijacked this thread, I did not mean to.

I went to the hypnotherapist today and I have to say I was impressed. We started off with a 1/2 hour of filling in a questionnaire and a chat about my lifestyle and goal and what I was wanting to get out of the session. I had a few other things that I felt needed to be dealt with also, such as sleep and self esteem issues. So she thought that I may need 2 or 3 sessions in total to work through them. She then taught me a few realxation techniques for when I am feeling stressed or anything that causes me to feel less that "centered".

Then the hypnotherapy, through this she was not giving me dietary advice as such, but more suggesting that I stop and think about my goals (when I am feling anything that will trigger hunger as such) and if I am really hungry when I could actually be only thirsty. Also to always look at how I will feel afterwards (guilty, depressed etc). She was also telling me that how much better I feel when I do eat good, clean, healthy food. Other things were reinforcing my self esteem and self belief.

Before going in, on a consious level I knew what she was telling me was correct, but it had to reach a deeper level (I hope this is making sense and I am not sound like a complete tool!).

So I am going back in 2 weeks and in the meantime I am staying in contact with her via email if I have any questions.

Cheers,

Michelle

Hi Michelle,

Don't sweat - everybodies experiences are worth sharing. Actually your hypnotherapist sounds wonderful - so much more intersted in results than the guy I saw - makes me even more furious really.

Well, my success seems to be coming a lot harder this week - I've really struggled. I'm snacking a lot at the moment, although being more aware of it has helped me to control it a bit. I'm determined to renew my efforts again in this upcoming week - wish me luck.

Michelle - I hope you have more success.
