I've found it helps to turn the "just this once" excuse around. It's easier to refuse a chocolate if you tell yourself: "I'm just saying no this once, I might have one later". And once you've made a healthy choice, your superego starts patting you on the back and it's easier to go on.
Not that it always works, though - or I wouldn't be here!
