No Going Back Now!!!

Postby Fairie » Mon Oct 10, 2005 8:21 pm

I have taken my clothes in heaps of times over the years only to let them out again when I put the weight back on.

Yesterday I was taking them in for the 3rd time since April and they looked shocking, they were so thick and bulky on the sides. I thought there is only one thing to do and I got the sissors and cut all the excess material from the sides.

I have never been that confident to do that before but now I think, well I'm not going to be able to wear them for much longer because I'll be buying smaller sizes.

:D :D :D

I have a few nice 'plus size' skirts that I wanna wear even when I get to my goal weight.. I thought about taking them in myself but knowing my luck and sewing capabilities, they will end up looking horrible

Does anyone have any idea what a dressmaker or someone similar would charge me to do the alterations?

Emma :)

Alterations aren't that hard so you wouldn't expect them to be too expensive and a lot of dry cleaners offer an alteration service which might be even cheaper than going to a dressmaker. If you asked around you might be surprised to find a friend or family member with pretty good sewing skills who might be willing to do it for a favour - baby sitting? Coffee and cake? Who knows.
