Hi all, my scales aren't working well, what brand of scales do you have and would you recommend it? Thanks.

As a member of Choice Magazine online I can look up what they have done tests on.

They have tested Body Fat scales so this may help. This is what they recommend to buy:

What to buy

TANITA InnerScan Body Composition Monitor BC-532 $399
TEFAL Bodymaster Vision 79570 $210
TANITA Body Fat Monitor/Scale BF-679W $175
PROPERT Glass Body Fat Electronic Bathroom Scale 3040 $79
OREGON SCIENTIFIC High Precision Body Weight Monitor with Body Fat Index GA101 $180
SOEHNLE Body Balance Chicago GSM-63671 $180-200
SOEHNLE Volga 63674 $90

The Weight Watchers ones apparently scored the worst.

I brought the TANITA InnerScan Body Composition Monitor BC-53 5 for $150 with a RRP of $300. I love them. They measure body fat %, weight, water %, muscle %, muscle mass and rate you on a scale based on body fat % and weight. I think they go up to 150kg.

i use $30 big w digital ones, they tell me my weight, fat% and water% and work a charm! they are metalic plasticy colour and weighed me when i was 125kgs so i assume they go upto 150 or so, i didnt want to spend hundreds on scales and these do the job great

That was why I had to buy scales that weighed me!! Most only went up to 150kg and I knew I was heavier than that, hence having to spend twice as much on scales!! GGRRRRR

Thanks everyone for your replies.

I was thinking of the Tanita scales but they are a bit expensive compared to the rest, are they really that much better?

We just buy ones from the shops or the markets, but they are digital.

Our latest ones are from the markets and there pretty good. The sign say $20 down from $80 but you can never really trust that
