Lol before i realised i had PMS i would break up with my BF every month because it made me really angry and emotional and i thought i didnt want to be with him.. then it was over and i took him back.. needless to say i didnt keep him for long.. six periods id say... LOL

so with my current bf ( of two years) i recognise the signs and just ignore those feelings... but he too knows when i have PMS he needs to be a bit more understanding lol

I used to get really major headaches, cry at the drop of a hat and yell at anyone who would listen for no reason at all! Grrr!!! I've tried herbal supplements like Vitex, which helps somewhat. I think the best thing you can do is learn to recognise what's going on, accept it and try to deal with it the best you can :?

I have really bad PMS....sometimes I think maybe I should go see someone about it...I get to the point where I hate myself so much that I think about ending it all...but in the next minute I am laughing and happy.....don't you just love being female?????

I think as I've gotten older I've become much less afraid of speaking my mind and that certainly makes for some interesting PMS experiences!

Some months are worse than others. Sometimes I'd love to see a pair of scissors sticking out of the forehead in everyone around me, other times I take it out on a block of chocolate.

Fortunately, my husband is quite aware of my cycle, even more than I am, and tends to just ignore any ranting I might do
Just keep moving! And don't be lazy...

Hhehehehe today is apparently International Women's Day ( ) maybe we should send this thread in on "why it is so great to be a woman"

I get really cranky and short tempered....my 3 girls have learnt to keep a low profile (I heard my oldest say to my youngest one day..don't worry mum is just due for her periods! ). I am really high strung and any little thing sets me off....Scott will just laugh at me now and go....oooh who is a cranky little shite then...which doesn't help BTW!! My son in following in his daddy's footsteps and we clash around PMS time!! I am like you too Sarah, I will also cry for no apparent reason.....yep on this day to celebrate womanhood....gotta love being a woman

Ditto Ally!!!!!!!!

My kids have also learned to keep a low profile. My eldest calls it "dragon week" because he reckons that I turn into a fire breathing dragon.

I don't particularly like taking it out on others so mostly end up stomping around swearing and getting angry with myself. Most of the time provided I have some pain killers on hand I can handle the rest. Except I ride like a mad woman a day or two before it starts...the traffic just seems to get in my way......98ks in a 100 zone........get out of MY WAYYYYYYYYYYY!! Catch myself doing rather creative lane changing manoeuvres.

I've found that since I got married my PMS has gotten worse...LOL...dunno if it's cause of hormones or just cause I got married...LOL!!! Although, I think I have it pretty mild compared to alot of women. My hubby is the one who has to deal with the irrational thought processes and tears...everyone else gets normal old me. My poor darling!!!

Im just slowly getting worse the older I get, the physical effects I can handle easily with herbal PMS support stuff but I get so bloody sad, angry and every emotion in between :( I know its PMS and I track my cycle to know when its coming but it hits me like a tonne of bricks every time. I went to the dr about it and he just brushed me off said there is nothing that can be done, I asked about anti-deppresants but he outright said no! I dont think he believed me
time for a new GP I think

i dont know if anti depressants would be the best idea, i think someone told me that u can 'come down' off them and end up even more depressed, so they might do more harm than good if u only need them for a few days a month

for ADs to be effective I would need to take them daily, I was willing to give it a go to see if it helped me
