Water Worries

Postby 13words » Wed Mar 14, 2007 8:18 pm

Just wondering how all of you keep count of how much water you drink each day? I find it easy for myself to remember by having 5 mini pump bottles (400ml) in the fridge (refill them each night before bed). I make sure these are all gone by night time and it ensures I drink 2 litres per day! They're also perfect size for taking on a walk! How does everyone else monitor their water consumption? 8)

I have one of the huge 2 ltr Mount Franklin bottles that I carry everywhere. I sip from it all day and if I want diet cordial, I make it up from my water bottle. Just seeing my bottle there infront of me is a huge reminder to keep drinking

I do the same thing, I carry a water bottle with me all the time and I know I need about 4 of them (they are 600ml so I go a bit over 2L) each day...

It's so good to have a visual reminder!

I have two 2L jugs that I drink out of. I keep one at work which is kept on my desk so I'm constantly sipping away on water all day and I make sure I consume all of it before I leave work. The other jug is kept at home chilled with lemon slices; on most days I consume half the contents. I also carry a 600mL bottle of water in my purse if I need a drink to and from work or if I leave the office throughout the day.

It took me a few days to get accustomed to drinking that much water, as I used to drink one 600mL bottle a day. But now it has become second nature. It's definitely reduced my coffee and tea intake.

About 4 months ago I never used to drink any water!! For years I'd be lucky to have 2 glasses a week! How sad is that?

I have a 750ml water bottle at work, which I usually fill up twice. Just recently I started using a bottle at home too, as I can just take it everywhere around the house and drink away.

Never strict on the whole 2L thing, but I'm usually at least drinking 2L I believe.

I have a water bottle on my desk at work and another at home. I've never been big on water consumption so I find that unless I have water in front of me it becomes low priority.....well actually forgotten.

i never used to drink water before august last year either unless i was taking medication for something.

i have a 1 litre bottle (pop top cos i find it goes down better) and i fill that up at night and drink it then next morning then refill it for the rest of the day. i dont go to bed unless i have drank my 2 litres at least. last night i sat in bed with my water bottle reading harry potter. and if i have bubble baths i take the bottle with me too.

I have a 1.5L bottle on my desk at work. I normally get thru at least one and a half, sometimes two bottles over the working day (and that's not including what I drink at the gym in the morning, or at home at night!). I see it all the time so I'm constantly reminded to drink.

On the weekend it's a bit harder and there's a lot of guesswork involved! I need to work on starting to drink water earlier in the day on the weekends... normally it's a few hours before I'm off the tea/coffee and onto the water

And I never, never go out anywhere without taking water with me... just can't do it!

I have a 1L bottle on my desk at work and it never leaves my side! As long as I empty it twice I know I've had my 2L.

Just a tip, I saw on 'What's good for you' a test they ran on water bottles, ie the bacteria that grows. Just make sure that you wash your bottles at least every second day with detergent. And don't share whatever you do, coz you can get food poisoning, stephlacocis (or however it is spelt).

Keep smiling (and drinking)!

I get up and have a glass of water straight away. Then another 2 or so before going to work. I usually drink my 750ml bottle by lunch time and then I have another 4 or 5 glasses of water in the afternoon at home. I don't tend to add in the 600ml of water that I drink while exercising. I figure that I am replacing what is being used up by the exercise. So that is always added on. Some days I do 2 exercise sessions as well. So that combined with what I drink during the day would be around 2.5 to 3L for the day. If I don't drink at least 1.5L a day I get a headache.

I love it Mandie - a badge that proves your sane... where do I get one of these!

I have a 1L bottle of water (Aroona spring water - 99c at Coles or Safeway) and I refill it at least twice a day. I find if I don't have it, I don't drink half as much. I like that the bottles are cheap - I make sure I buy a new one each week- just to stop it getting too rank.

Yeah I get a 6 pack of mini pumps each week! Just to make sure they're clean! I clean them in the middle of the week aswell! It's amazing how good you feel when you drink water compared to how sluggish you feel when you live off coke and fizzy drinks!!
