So it's only a small pic (and not of our club) but you get the jist of what I have to wear as of 21 April...... I tried one on and they leave NOTHING to the imagination!!!! I said to my girlfriend (who is a size 6 mind you) who picked them, and she swears they are better to play in than the old uniforms, but are so tight... and, well, lycra!!!!

OMG -- that is just Cruel!

I read this article in The Age recently... here's an excerpt

SKIMPY, tight-fitting uniforms are keeping women from sports such as netball. A worrying drop in netball participation rates is partly to blame on women's body image in relation to short netball skirts and all-in-one Lycra bodysuits, a report commissioned by Netball Australia has found.

You wouldnt see men being forced to wear anything that revealing in team sports. my boyfriend plays indoor soccer and they all play in tshirts and normal shirts. pity really......few on the team I could actually handle seeing in lyrca!

HHHMMM I think I would be one to pull out of a sport if asked to wear that. So Talia you have a very brave heart mate. You are much better than me! I hate wearing anything that is a bit tight that shows the fat rolls. Especially in public. I don't even like getting out in the bathers in public, tho I do occassionally. I wear good old boardies and a tankini tho so it covers up a bit of the fat!!!

I played netball for many years, and am glad that I don't play anymore if that is the uniform. We wore skirts and t-shirts, and they were both comfortable and practical.

Well, I will say when I tried the sample on it wasn't as bad as I thought, and ours is a dark blue so a little better, but still definitely bad.... I think that they are trying to sexy netball up - its what they did with the aussies first, now it is filtering down to club level....... I will definitely take a pic when I get mine so you can all see!!!
Lucky I love playing netball so much.... but youre right, alot of girls would not play if they had to wear that......

oh and you cant wear shorts underneath, under the attached skirt it has these all in one bikini pants things, so really you don't even have to wear underwear if you don't want.... I will of course!!!

Yeah I think they are trying to "sexy" it up by getting rid of anyone over a size 8......it is such a shame....

yeah, i certainly wouldn't have played in high school if i had to wear that! it was traumatic enough just playing, because i'm not very coordinated and tended to fall down a lot.. :P
