A question....

Postby *KaTe* » Sat Mar 31, 2007 11:40 pm

Hi Everyone :D

Just a question- I have lost around 30 kgs in the past 15 months or so, and am not to far from my goal...maybe another 10kgs....

I am wearing clothes that I used to fit into, but have noticed the past month or so that some of my clothes seem tighter...Now the normal thing with weight loss is that your clothes get looser!!

Am wondering has anyone experienced this? All I can think of is that I have gained more muscle tone- therefore my clothes maybe sitting differently? Im not weighing myself atm as I feel it demotivates me, so am going on what I look like...And I can definately tell Im toning up and looking better...And I think I recall my old trainer telling me not to go off old clothes? As the body shape changes etc?

So just wanted to ask as I think this forums great and thought someone might know why this is happening!

Thanks! :D

I think you're right - your shape is probably changing as you develop muscle.. as long as you are exercising and eating right and feeling great, don't worry about it!

Firstly congrats on the weight loss so far well done kate you must be proud how far you have come, not long now before you reach your goal weight!!!. I agree with mandy it is probly your body changing to the way you are exercising if you are happy with the way things are than don't worry about it. Good luck to reaching your goals.

Hi kate you will have to do a introduction page. congrats on the loss so far. i agree, your weight is probably shifting or it could be fluid and bloating or muscle.

i can usually tell because i cant make a fist with my hands. theyre just so puffy. another way of testing is to press the inside of your ankle with your finger and if a mark shows up there you know theres fluid

Thanks, I just did the test then, and a white mark showed up for a few seconds, is that what you are talking about?

yup :) you may have too much salt in your food intake or not drinking enough water.

Hmmmmm ok...well I drink probably around 3 litres of water a day...so dont think its that, and I dont add salt to any of my meals and basically eat home cooked meals, nothing pre packaged...

Might have to go get some kineselogy and theta done, will be able to find out if I have fluid retention for sure!
