diet soft drinks

Postby pino » Fri Apr 13, 2007 9:15 pm

ok im a big fan of diet soft drinks. i use them to fill me up when i know im not hungry but i really wanna eat something as they have virtually no calories or fat. but does anyone else think they sound too good to be true? is there something i should know about the effect of diet drinks on weight loss or is it just the actual negative health factor of all the artifical crap they put in them?

Yep I only have the very occasional coke zero just when I really feel like something other than water.

I'm a big fan of soda water - no calories or fat at all but still bubbly so you can pass it off as 'soda'
35kg lost. (November 2005 - October 2006)
15kg gained again (as at October 2010).

I love soda water too!! you can add some lemon or lime juice or cordial to it....I don't have diet softdrinks so what I do if I want a sweet softdrink is I put a quarter of a glass of say lemonade or fanta or lift and then top it up with soda water....it is great on the calories......and it is not sickly sweet......

on the aspartame issue.....google the word "aspartame" and also "artificial sweetener" and there are some articles that will help you...for me, I found that things that were happening to me which were unexplained by my doctor were the side effects of artificial sweeteners. I find that moderation is the key as with anything and I will very very occassionally have a glass or two of diet vanilla coke, but I know that I will suffer for it in the morning!....some of the articles you find will be just crap and one company trying to push their products, but some of the medical information on it is great.......

I hardly have any soft drinks at all now. I find they make me feel a bit "bubbly" lol. I think the artificial sweetners increase appetite as well :(

Anyone see on the telly last night about the Diet Coke Plus, with vitamins? Interesting...
